This updates 200+ WTA players' pictures (see enclosed folder "screens" for examples), and also has optional schedule and sponsor updates. The most important thing to do before using this update is to BACKUP ALL YOUR FILES. This update overwrites the original game files, so to avoid having to reinstall, BACKUP ALL YOUR FILES.
The 200+ pictures overwrite not only all the original WTA pictures, but also all the ATP pictures as well. So BACKUP ALL YOUR FILES if you wish to reinstate all the ATP and original WTA pictures.
To properly add the WTA pictures, you will need to use the program "QPed", which you can download from the Tennis Elbow site on this link https://www.managames.com/download.php?qped211.exe .
Adding the WTA Player Pictures:-
------------------------------
Step 1:- Unzip the archive "tennis elbow manager wta 1990-2005 graphical update by zenarcher73.zip" into a folder we will call "1990 Graphical Update". This will result in 7 files - "Player tournament schedule.xls"
"players.wta.ini"
"readme.txt"
"sponsor.ini"
"tour.wta.ini"
"tourcategory.wta.ini"
"wta players edits.txt"
and 2 directories - "data"
"screens".
Step 2:- Download and install "Qped". Download link- https://www.managames.com/download.php?qped211.exe
Step 3:- Run Qped, in Qped main menu, select "File" then "Open". Navigate to where you have installed "Tennis Elbow Manager", and select the "Data" folder. Select the file "Pak01.pak". Six folders should now be displayed in the main Qped window - "data"
"dxshaders"
"menu"
"meshes"
"scripts"
"specialfx".
In Qped main menu, select "Object" then "Export to directory". Select a location and create a new folder named "PAK", then click "OK". Qped will now extract the aforementioned 6 folders into the folder "PAK". Exit Qped.
Step 4:- Return to the folder "1990 Graphical Update", then copy the folder "Data" and paste it in the folder "PAK". You will be asked to "Confirm Folder Replace", select "YES to All".
Step 5:- Run Qped, in Qped main menu, select "Object" then "Import from directory". Navigate to the folder "PAK", then click "OK". The six folders should be displayed in the main Qped window. In Qped main menu, select "File" then "Save As". Select the file "PAK01.Pak" which is displayed in the window, click "Save" then "Yes" when asked if you want to replace the file. Exit Qped.
Step 6:- The WTA player pictures will now load when you next start the game, but first the files must be associated with the right players. You can manually edit the "players.wta.ini" file in the "Data" subfolder within your Tennis Elbow installation, all needed edits are detailed in the "wta players edits.txt" file.
Alternately, you can copy the supplied "players.wta.ini" in the "1990 Graphical Update" folder, and paste it into your "Data" subfolder, within your original Tennis Elbow installation.
Step 7:- Your Graphical Update is complete, next time you start "Tennis Elbow Manager", the player pictures will be displayed.
Optional Files
--------------
"players.wta.ini" - as well as associating the player pictures with the appropriate players, this file has many edits covering not just the 1990-2005 period, but current day players as well. All edits are detailed in the "wta players edits.txt" file.
"sponsor.ini" - adds some addition sponsors, and changes the existing ones to their correct names.
"tour.wta.ini" & "tourcategory.wta.ini" - these change the WTA tour schedule to a more current one, adding names to the tournaments and correct qualifying draws.
"Player tournament schedule.xls" - is a player aid, for keeping track of the players schedule with ease.
"wta players edits.txt" - details all the manual edits needed to use the player pictures, and all the other edits which have been done to the "players.wta.ini" file supplied in this archive.
