Adding new players to the .ini file

Postby PattySchnyder » 18 Jun 2011, 17:49

Hey manutoo I wanted to add new up and coming juniors/players to my player.ini file however I was wondering how did you do everyone's stat's? because it'd be hard to do one for each player. So did you just do random numbers for some players? Also does it matter what stats they have as long as the rank per year is high? I need some help..thanks

Hello,

1st, I assign a play style to the players (for new players, it's done randomly), then I randomly assign the skills, but with a different scheme depending of the style. All of this is done by a tool that I can't publish coz it's totally unusable (ie: no documentation, and I have to re-compile it all the time depending of what I want to do).

Skills won't matter much for the global strength, the RpY is what is important ; but if you make them completely random, you may have strange result, like defender having better volley than rally skills & ending up winning Wimbledon instead of RG, and other stuff like that...
Idem for the 4 special mental skills (see doc), you need to be sure they are high enough for high ranked players, else they might be very inconsistent, or even under-performing.

Would you mind posting the tool/program you use? I want to see if i can figure it out. Or if you can give me a couple of tips it would be greatly appreciated

As I said, it's unusable as it is (there's no GUI, no option, no-nothing, you can't possibly guess what it takes for input) ; you need the sources of the game to recompile it to achieve what you want, and I'm not giving away them... ;)

Easiest way for you might to take current low ranked players from the base, duplicate them and then quickly change a couple of skills, and that's all.

Is there any limit to how many players can be in the file...or when you add a player, do you have to delete another to keep the file the same.

Rasmuth,
you can have up to 32'000 players in the base ; don't forget to change the MaxPlayer at start of it, though.
