My second day playing the game on Xbox Series X. Game was updating when I tried to start it today, but once update was complete, I cannot get the game to start. I keep getting this screen:

Update needed

You need this update, but we can’t get it right now. Try again in a while. (0x8b50033)

is it ok now ? If not, did you try to reboot your console ?

I have the same problem. It is not fixed for me as of now. I rebooted my console as well.

could you try to reinstall the game to see if it helps ? (I did 2 updates yesterday, which may have thrown away a bit the Xbox update system )

Solution 1:

Step 1. Press and hold the Xbox button on the console for at least 10 seconds to open the Power center.

Step 2. Then unplug the power supply from your console and wait for 3 minutes.

Step 3. Plug the power supply back into the Xbox console.

Step 4. Press the Xbox button on the console to turn it on again.

Solution 2:

Press the Xbox button.
Open Settings.
Go to Network and select Network settings.
Select Advanced settings.
Select Alternate MAC Address.
Select Clear.
Select Restart.

I tried both of the solutions and neither one worked. I also reinstalled the game. Is there anything else I can do?

could you do a menu button click on TE4 in your Xbox library -> manage game and addons , and tell me what version is shown ? It should be : "Version 1.137.2503.500".

I have version 1.137.2503.500. It still isn’t working, but it stays open maybe a second or two longer than before.

I have no idea what I could do so I just pushed another update, just changing the version number to 1.137.2503.501 .

It should be available within 2 hours. Let me know if it fixes the issue or not. If not, I'll have to contact Microsoft and it'll take a few days to settle...

I managed to install the today's update on my Xbox and it worked correctly... Hopefully, it'll be the same on yours...
