After installation on Mac and opening the Demo-Launcher, the applications starts loading up for a few seconds and then the icon vanishes and the game does not open at all. Can something be done?

is it the Launcher that dies or the game ?

If the game, could you send me this file : ~/Library/Logs/Mana Games/Tennis Elbow 4/Player.log ? (enter the folder in Finder -> Go -> Go to folder)
If the launcher : "~/Library/Logs/Mana Games/TennisElbow4-Launcher-Demo/Player.log"

Someone reported the same issue and provided a log that allowed me to find the issue. You can now launch the TE4-Demo-Launcher and it should update the Demo and make it work.
