Its not a bug, sadly is another stroke with combinations that could be used to trick oponnets.

Now along this kind of tricky unreal shots are.
1)The accelerated slice that you mention.
2)Short slice.
3)The "banana" shot.

The shot 1 is tricky to do it, but i have seem people that can do it several times with ease.
The shots 2 and 3 are ridiculously easy.

All of them unfair an feasible to be played on tough points and bang you get broken...

what a minute, so you mean this is normal according to the manual?

is this game meaning that a theoretically impossible shot is possible?

SPC,
the "accelerated slice" has nothing to do with the combo strikes.

The Potro,
if someone is preparing a slice & then change his mind and does an acceleration, then his strike anim will change, but you'll see the slice one at 1st.
The resulting acceleration is _not_ sliced, and the later your opponent changed his mind, the less accurate it'll be (coz he didn't charge it long time), which is usually bad for him & more or less compensates your possible surprise if you didn't see the strike anim morphing from slice to acceleration.
