Look I wasn't going to say anything because I thought it was some elaborate prank to mess with me, but it turns out you were being serious. So I'm going to be truthful as well. So if you and others want to hear my side of the story, then here it is (some of which I already explained on Skype, but thanks for blocking me
):
1. I was well aware you were going easy on me in the first couple of sets, which highly contributed to the score. So of course you would have killed me if you were playing 100% from start to finish. So thanks for letting me win a set to make it look less embarrassing for me. I appreciate it.
2. I had no idea what the hell you were talking about regarding this "green circle" cheating tactic - you didn't even explain it to me but rather you firstly full-on accused me and said "you know what you are doing, don't screw with me". I replied "Okay fine I am, happy?". I can't believe you of all people could not detect my sarcasm there
If you must know how I move like that then sure I'll tell you. My tactics are simple: after getting the ball back I retreat to the middle of the court so that I have time to retrieve the next shot because that way it's easier to get the shot back - then rinse and repeat. I don't circle defence because I don't even know how to do it properly. Not everyone knows how to circle defence dude. By your logic of this cheating tactic you speak of, I would be able to hit an acceleration on every shot and get back everything, even sharp angles, and timing all those shots to perfection - but I didn't did I? You were destroying me when you stopped fooling around, and at those times I couldn't even attempt to chase those balls down because those shots from you were too good. Also if I was cheating like this, I wouldn't lose to regular players (eg. see the players I've lost to this year) because I'm at a similar level to them (and don't give me your BS conspiracy theories about this either
). I've never even heard of this "bug" until you fully explained it here - so think dude... I'm denying this not because I'm being shady, but because I literally had no idea what the F you were ranting about. And when I finally did know what you were talking about, none of what you said happened anyway.
3. And no I didn't encounter the "circle" thing that you speak of - I only see the danger zone because that's the rules isn't it? You're only allowed maximum, the 'All + Danger Zone' setting which is what I did. This "circle" thing only happens if you add the 'Aiming' aspect to it. And like I said, if this is a bug then I've never seen or heard about it before until now. I've heard about it now, but I've still never seen it before in a tour setting. Sorry to disappoint you. Also I have the dmo so if you or the mods want to see it, then go ahead and ask me for it. If I "cheated" or did something wrong in whatever manner, it's unintentional because I don't even know what I did/am doing wrong.
One lame thing we're both certain of is the terrible conditions. Look dude, I don't like it any more than you do because I'm forced to stand far back to buy myself some time and guess to pick a side to get the ball back basically every time it lags/glitches. It's a bloody lottery for me - but since I despise RL even more, I try to continue anyway and torture myself (unless it's completely unplayable, eg. slow motion, stopping and starting, close to being frozen, etc). Luckily for me you weren't painting the lines when you weren't playing serious so I was able to get them back - and when you did start painting the lines, there wasn't anything I could do. With the glitch shot-making animations, I don't even know how I do them - if you asked me to replicate it I doubt I could even reproduce it unless I do it by accident (eg. probably by mashing all the arrow keys all at once) - it's probably the delay/glitching frames that make this seem possible (just like when you think you hit a winner but all of a sudden it comes back - I get this ALOT and it's so annoying), but yeah again, I really don't know. And also if I get a short ball, of course I'm going to try to attack and move forward to the net - that's my way of trying to win the point as efficiently and as painlessly as possible. So how the hell you accused me of cheating when I did that on one of the points (where you even passed me to win the point) is insane, when you were also using net play to good effect
Also I wanted to apologize to The Joker because of those shitty conditions which made it one massive pot luck. Basically a few points here and there decided the direction of that match. If I didn't save those two set points in the 1st set, I probably wouldn't even be in the SF. So definitely I admit I got ridiculously lucky there. You have every right to be pissed off because I felt the same way in the two previous encounters at Wimby'14 and Cincy'15.
Anyway the point here is me trying to be as honest and truthful as possible. I'm not attempting to defend or prove that I'm not an unfair person, because that's not for me to judge. I try to play to have fun and that's it. The worst thing about playing this game is living in Australia unfortunately because most of the other players reside in the European regions. I hate it just as much as you guys. But I play the game simply because I want to play the game. Otherwise there's just no point playing (eg. by RL'ing and WO'ing my opponents, that is even more pointless). So unless there's an agreement to ban long-distance players from playing the game, there's nothing more I can do. All I can do is apologize for any inconvenience that I have caused and hope there's no hard feelings. If there's any other matters you guys want me to discuss, contact me on Skype.
