Ahhhhh ok...now i read the rules and the R.L. mean Random Luck.....so its like heads or tails before start the match;but in this case the lucky will decided the match...right?! Very nice,congratulation for the admin to applied this rules,never seen somethink similar in ITST(never exist).
I thinks that this rules its "ridiculous" anyway congratulation of my opponent to " win " this match,very great opponent.
I have no words.... very ridiculous forum.

Hi Francesco, no worry, if you and your opponent have already fixed a time for match, the moderator can delete the RL/WO decision. I think in your case you should still play the match since you have agreed a time with your opponent before moderator made that decision.

Also, next time you should just tell moderator on skype or write on the match organization thread that you have fixed a time to play and the mods would be able to see it and give you extra time to play.

Contact me via Skype and I explain you the rules ... I think RL can be quite fair. In this case, I canceled the RL and you'll get the chance to play today. But two requirements:

• get a Skype account and contact me
• contact the next opponent (nkpodovi) for reserve

Thanks for that Mark Chan, i appreciate that....unnfortunally i dindt use skype...in ITST its sufficient a pm and i had done these for many years but i can understand this rules of these forum and ok probably my trouble but if my opponent tell me that "its ok...we can play Tomorrow" and this morning im wake up and i see "R.L." i think that is a very frustration because i cant accept to lost to my opponent but not like that; and i had see that these happen many times......even quarter of final and semifinal to win like that....and for what??????Random Luck???So in final of Wimbledon there is a top 1 versus top 10 and the top 1 press "R.L. botton" and he will win the tournament like that???? Its a joke???!.
For me "i repat" dont never exist but the way if there is a rules of forum no problem....i never sign up for these tournament in a future because i willnever accept this.

Well many players don't like RL including me. It has long been a issue. I dunno how ITST decides on matches that are not played. There would be controversies like RL if one is given WO over the other guy. And it is true there are more players from different continents on main tour so the chances of matches not being played have increased due to connection distance and time zone difference, while ITST has a smaller draw. So, RL maybe the lesser devil if the tournaments want to include as many players as possible. But in general matches are played. If some players want to abuse that RL and if moderators are fair, they would know and give the opponent a WO. And RL is made only when both players agree or by mods. So there wouldn't be the case that a higher ranked player presses RL to win the match himself. I can explain to you more on skype if u want.

And I'd also say Skype is more convenient than pm because not all people have time to check the forum all the time. They prefer skype because even if they are at work or school, they would receive notification from their mobile's skype apps (or when they are doing other work on cpu they could get notification from the pop up window). But I know some players use pm and dont use skype too. You wouldn't get punished for not using skype if u can check forum all the time)

Right, it's better to have tournaments going for weeks.

This is the only way to decide unplayed matchs when neither player was at fault (I should've disqualified you both because I had no notice of either), give the winner a chance to play his next match and don't delay the tournament.

I think, ITST's host can see your private messages with your opponent. In this forum, I am not sure is that possible or not.

Like our DISQ... But on ITST, if both players don't have desire to play, hosts (like our mods) decide match by "No match" and next opponent gets Walkover. But on this forum, if one of player doesn't have desire, he can still win by RL. I think ITST rule about that is better.

Yes.
I think mods should start to DISQ players that overuse RL. They can still retain RL but for matches that players show desires to play despite replying on forum, both should be disqualified.
(For example, both players were only online for 15mins each...)

If player is online, that doesn't mean he is available to play. So, moderators can't know that. And if online time = available time, what if moderator is online only 15 minutes one day. He also can't know which player was online before or after his online time (15 minutes).

Francesko don't give up, i think that you have chances to beat many players,but every begining is hard, you will use to RL, I always play my match soonest I can, In most of tournaments I play one of the first 5 matches in tournament. And also, I can't remember last time mods musted to RL my match.

Ehm in theory every admin or mod have the possibility to see the pm of the opponent,anyway if they cant im sorry,i didnt know that. Now i used skype so i think that ill be resolve this problem.

thanks man,and sorry if u had lost the same a match for R.L. i hope that this rules will be change immediately because with people that didnt respond a the message(or that promise to play but he press button R.L. and u wake up with R.L.) and with continue reply with admin to explain your reason about that there ill became a JOB and not a Games.
Anyway is only an episode and i hope that will not reply again.

We can't, only manutoo as forum admin can check on user's pms.
One of the reasons we ask for Skype. But you fixed that and also now know that you have to use the matchs organization forum so I guess it won't happen again.

Now you're being constructive, Mark: that's actually a good idea, but very hard to implement i.e it'd require us to be 24/7 / players to send us a Skype message when they come online/go offline.
