Final: Dr.Ivo def. MarkChan 4/6 6/4 10/5

What can I say, he is really the best active doubles players on this tour and has fantastic chemistry with his partner(e.g.rocket speed smash to set up volley interception for Ivo). Out of this world volleying skills. And when no one plays like him (which requires crazy skills and experiences), it's really hard to adjust and find a right tactics when every of his tactics is so anew to me.

I sticked to baseline game and tried to even risk b1+b2+up return on his partner's first serve but he just knows where my ball goes. Then I was like okay let me try to stay at net and volley to his partner, then he jumps left and right again. Even I have 2 guys at net I won't pass him. And today he even got every of my serve back unlike the previous meetings. Plus after rehosting(he forgot to set 3sets) I always struggled with my return position a bit and let him ace me a few times.

The better player wins. Well-deserved.

first of all , many congrats to ivo!!

i think your play of now is similar with vampirezattitide's play from 2013, very good at net and also a good partener.
i dk why u need a master tb set to win this match bcoz your level is very high now ( i dont say mark's level is bad ,but i would expect a 2 sets match). maybe condition of play didnt represent an avantage for u or why not, mark rised his level ...

i m looking forward for a match btween u and sofi :bounce:

Sorana:

I did feel like he should have won in straight sets. He is really on fire, got all big serves back, got my dropshot volley back(which deters me from net charging even when he at baseline hits the ball to my partner ). I got away with some lucky spam shots and net cord volleys in the 1st set. Yes his partner is very strong. But I can say his partner is strong in a different sense than some other guys' partners on tour. Only he has the skill to command this partner. For others, I feel like it would be too risky to have a partner like this, which proves Dr. Ivo's ability.
