Well, firstly it was a very very close match. We traded service breaks in every set several times, and it could have really gone either way. There's quite a lot to say about this match, but I'm pretty tired so let's see if I can remember anything of the match
I want to say that he is very good, I can't believe he has played baseline for only a short period of time, because he was playing so well from there. It's sad that there can only be one winner as he deserved to win too. I was pretty lucky at some important points to be honest.
As I said, we traded breaks in every set so there were two breaks in total in the first set. The first set tiebreak was crowded with minibreaks, and I was serving at *5-4 when he won both of my serves when I hit two shots a couple of centimetres wide and then he held to win the set.
The 2nd started a bit iffy for me as I was still trying to figure out how I lost the first, but I was able to hang on. Again there were some service breaks. I can't remember when, but I got the deciding break somewhere in the middle of the set and then we held serves until the 2nd set was over.
3rd set, I started strongly to break him at love, but he broke me back immediately (spelled correct?
) and then we held serves until 2-2 when I broke him again. He broke me soon again to 4-4. I got a break point, and he hit an unfortunate double fault there. Then I held pretty comfortably and the match was over.
A very tiring match in general, and it was 00:40 at night my time when we started so I was pretty cross eyed throughout the match. But I enjoyed the match a lot, as he is a very fair guy and a great player and I hope to meet him soon again. Good luck in the rest of the season!
