A Matter of Racism-Maciek78

Postby ying-chang » 05 Apr 2009, 23:25

I am writing a formal complaint regarding maciek78. During a conversation we had maciek used some very strong words and assumptions about my character that have deeply disturbed and offended me. For no obvious reason he told me that as a communist asian c*nt, I should be deported back to china where I belong with pigs. I responded by telling him that he was being ignorant, but he continued, informing me that I was an ugly eyed c*nt who deserved to be f*cked while making rice. By this time I was very offended and let him know that not only was he rude, but he also had crossed a line and didn't deserve my attention. As I went to sign off he threw in one last word, telling me that I belonged back in vietnam with the other motherf*ckers of china. Not only is this ignorant, racist, and inappropriate, it offends me deeply that someone could view asain americans in this light and be able to get away with it. I hope maciek will be treated appropriately for these actions. Thank you.

Well, for racist comments there isn't a rule about it, but IMO he should be banned for at least 12 weeks and remember that maciek has a lot of problem with almost all players (maybe except me) so I think mods should take the right decision, anyway I'm sorry for you, ying-chang

Manu,

Just some food for thought....

It seems like the time is ripe to make a statement about the immature, sexist and racists remarks that I read here in the forums, all too frequently it seems...

I mean, immaturity is ONE thing, maybe a reasonable ban for immature behavior and/or cheating is OK...but WHY NOT have a rule in place governing racist remarks?!

In as far as racism and sexism goes, it seems that some of these..."people"....should be REFUNDED their money and perhaps BANNED COMPLETELY from TE for LIFE!!! ( forget about 12 weeks!)

Maybe they COULD be given a probationary period in which to change their tune...if they don't exhibit markedly better behavior then they should receive the ULTIMATE ban...

A lot of us play the game and participate in the forums as a means of temporarily escaping the day-to-day problems and aggravations so prevalent in our world today, only to have to deal with this BS in TE...
NO ONE should have to endure the below the belt racist remarks and stereotypes from these LOWLIFES..let them spew their hatred somewhere else where others who enjoy the game and the forum don't have to put up with such filth...

As an African-American, I have unfortunately had to bear some of this foolishness in my lifetime and as a full member of TE I would certainly like to see some kind of sanctions enforced that would help eliminate this stuff...

It seems that SOMEONE has to be sacrificed as an example to others that these types of behaviors WILL NOT BE TOLERATED EITHER IN THE GAME OR ON THIS FORUM!!

A refund wouldn't set a good precedent. Don't like the game, be an arsehole online and get your money back! Besides, most of the misbehaving kids online only have the demo.

If I were Manu, I'd ban IP #s for online play and on this board. Only for extreme circumstances, but we've gotten to that point with Maciek. He's been warned repeatedly, banned from the forum for a week, and keeps up his bullshit every match.

And I do not like that his behavior the past month is just being ignored... something needs to be done about this!

This might seem extreme or harsh, but why not have the demo game set up for playing ONLY against the CPU and not online...

Unfortunately sometimes the "many" have to suffer for the sins of the "few"...

When I discovered TE a year ago while I was browsing for tennis games on the computer, I too first tried out the demo version and felt that I was lucky enough to be able to play FREE against the CPU...let alone "online" games...

If they can't afford the $19 or so to buy the full version, tough...
If some of these "kids" had the full version maybe they'd have to be more cogniscent of their online behavior to avoid perhaps the FULL BAN, i.e. they would have something to LOSE as a result of their remarks and behaviors... 8-)

It just stikes me that talkin' smack to somebody online knowing that they can't get to you to tear your tongue out and shove it down your throat is the most COWARDLY form of behavior...

Hey, then again, why not BAN'EM and let'em forfeit their money as a punishment...

As far as I know, Maciek78 has always been like this since he appeared in the TE community. lol Always making very provoking and childish comments, including insults and prejudice comments. It's funny, yet extremely annoying. Obviously, he's an attention seeker, especially cowardly on the internet, by insulting others. I guess he's not getting enough attention at all outside his computer life lol

Racism and discrimination are absolutely unacceptable. In all seriousness, we should consider punishments for Maciek's action lol. People like him is just a disgrace to the TE community as a whole.

This is from the license that everybody who installs TE2009 agrees to :
The Author reserves the right to cancel or suspend this agreement for any
misbehavior in the online mode, such as, but not limited to : cheating,
insults, abuse, identity usurpation.

Also, in France, racist insult is punished by law, so although I think free speech is important, there's a limit to it, which is exceeded in such case.

I played Maciek78 a couple of times and he has been correct with me. So he should be able to have such behavior with other people as well, I'm going to see what I can do. (if i'm not mistaken... I think he looks like a dark female elf or something like this :) )

Usually, for everything related to the online tournaments, it's the moderators who take the decision ; me, I only supervise a lil bit and apply the technical punishment they decided.

I played Davis Cup against him and he was ok, but later he had some stupid comments on msn... I was like :fear: ok, who cares...
If he really said that he should have been banned... you should just refuse conversation with idiots like that.

I have made a terrible mistake. I accidentally added the wrong email address for Maciek78. The person who I assumed was tennis elbow Maciek was actually some random person who was obviously emotionally unstable and a complete jerk, and he cursed me off and said all those racist remarks. So after hearing about Maciek's history of rudeness I figured I would post about it and share it with the community. But I had no idea until just now that it was a different person, and not the tennis elbow Maciek. So I sincerely apoligize for posting Maciek's remarks, because they were not actually his. I hope his ban is lifted because of my mistake. But let me still say that racism should not be tolerated, and those comments, whoever made them, are unacceptable!

Sincerely,

If this is true, then I too, apologize to Maciak 78 about MY responses...but ONLY half-heartedly, because he still says and does more than enough stupid shit in the games and on the forum to warrant being banned.
