How to extend a cpu player career in the world tour?

Postby Ufiors » 04 Nov 2012, 01:47

For example nadal in the game retires in 2014, and Federer in 2013, how can i extend Roger's career? What i have to change in players.ini? Only add another Year end ranking year?

Yeah, but be careful, max. playing years are 15, I think...
Best Grand Slam results: Australian Open R16 '11, '12
Best results: 's-Hertogenbosch final '11, Belgrade semifinal '11

This is true, but if you need to simulate a player being active for more years, you can create a duplicate of their entry at the end of the players.ini, with a starting date the year after the original entry "retires". I haven't tried doing it in this way (I used it for cases like Kimiko Date, with a long retirement before a comeback) but if you set the you set the "StartRank" parameter (you made need to add it, check the entries of the players that begin in 1990) to whatever you expect the original player to end at, you should be able to make it quite seamless. You will of course lose the player's tournament and head-to-head stats  .

No no, maybe i explained this in a wrong way. I have already a player in the world tour, and i want to know how Rafa for example, that is an opponent and he retires in 2014, can go on for other years.. I don't mean my player but the cpu ones

That's what I'm talking about, the player character Isn't in the players.ini!

You would need to find Nadal's entry, copy it, paste it on the end of the file (changing the player ID) and edit the years played for.

CPU Players can have up to 19 years (ie: 19 RankPerYear values).

I try to add to the player's Rank Per Year, but when I do, I go back into the game and it now says "invalid" when I try to load the game. This player doesn't have the maximum of 19 rank years. Please help?

murphywmm,
it's normal, if you change that, you have to start a new game.
