I think you should make his racquet go up in the air a bit faster, and make him throw the ball up in the air higher so it can look like this:

That's a little bit problematic...if I speed up the things, the ball will actually be lower in the air...to determine the height of the ball and the trajectory, Manutoo created a sort of algorithm that take in the consideration the frame where the ball is being tossed and the moment when is being hit. Being an algorithm, i can't always match each player's hitting point..some player are hitting the ball when it's in a downfall, some player when it has reached the maximum height and some when the ball is rising up in the air.
I tried to match exactly Federer's ball height but the animation looked overall a little bit slow, like he was serving in slow motion

RogerF wrote:Lets say in real life he holds the racquet like this for 0.3 seconds before hitting the ball, and in your serve animation he holds the racquet like that for like 0.1 seconds and then he hits the ball. Its just a bit messed up. I hope you know what I mean !!

You're right here..I tried to make it last longer but I had some serious smoothness issues.

Anyway, as I said, take a look at Federer's serves hit on the left side of the court...you'll notice that my animations and the real one isn't that different as you think it is.
Indeed, the way it raises the right hand in my animation is a little bit larger than real life but not so much.

Today, I made some small modifications and it looks better...I'm trying also to make it last a little bit longer before hitting the ball; the issue, as I said, is to make it look smooth, not to just make it (which is easy)

I'm releasing Federer's forehand and backhand, both regular and acceleration versions

Video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyeJpIJkrXg

Links:
http://www.mediafire.com/?m7uyy7zc4450y7c
http://www.mediafire.com/?xecsfqakcfmabkq

The backhands are basically the same...the difference is the player's position after finishing the stroke; it matches the position of the player in the "wait" animation

The forehands are a little bit different.

Since we normally use the acceleration button for like 90% of the time, I decided to make the regular version of the forehand a little bit more defensive and slow in order to match the running forehands, the drop-volleys, the serve returns, etc.

The acceleration version is also a little bit changed

Hope you like it

Enjoy

Sounds good! Looking forward to seeing the changed serve.

Regarding the forehand - I hate saying this but don't you think the old forehand that you created ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLDoI8AI ... ure=relmfu ) was better ? I really do think so. I'm not sure if the way his feet or body moved was better, but the swing was really looking more like Feds. This one looks a bit like Del Potro's forehand.

Regarding the backhand - I can't complain about it, it's almost perfect, you did a great job fixing it. :) Im glad i kinda helped you in a way by telling you whats wrong! :)

PS: I used to work at Ubisoft as a game tester, reporting bugs and stuff. so that's why everytime I see an imperfection I try to fix it :)

But it doesn't work.
I've uploaded a picture so you can see how it looks like.

I hope that somebody can help me.

The new acceleration version of my forehand has 4 differences:
- I added one more frame right before hitting the ball
- I reduced one frame in the follow through
- I reduced the player's height position in the follow through
- I reduced a little bit the distance between the feets when he finishes the stroke (not when he turns back to the original position which is now similar to the "wait" animation's position, but when he "lands" basically on the ground)

There's no modification in the swing process other than to add and reduce some frames which modifies only the speed and not the technical execution.

The first version was good but I thought he jumped a little bit too high...in the long run, I found it quite annoying since we basically use this shot 90% of the time.
The frames that I add and reduced comes from a close look at his real forehand.....that's how fast the swing is more or less.

If you like more the older version, you should still have it...if not here's the link:

Nothing was modified in the backhands except player's initial and final position (which again, it matches the position in the wait animation)...none, zero :) you see now how the way you judge an animation changes every day. Nothing wrong about that...happens to me too...that's why many times I do another version of them

I accept the critics..most of the time it helped me...you all should take in consideration though that I have some constraints:
- I have a sweetspot to adjust and this sometimes doesn't allow me to replicate well some body positions.
- I have to choose the right racquet height, the right speed, the right body rotation, the right swing so it will not look odd for different kind of strokes: powerfull, less powerfull, top spins, flat shots, drop-volleys, high balls, low balls
- Not knowing well how 3ds max works, sometimes it's difficult for me to make it look both realistic and smooth...I prefer a smoother animation to a less smooth but more realistic one.
- I always have to turn back to the original position (not a big problem here)

Anyway, keep coming with your observations...it always can be usefull ;)

@jairzinho
Update to the 1.0f version or buy the game if you're using a crack version

Which one ? the "regular" or the "acceleration" ?

Well, you still have 3 options to choose from:
- this one
- my first version
- m4n4c0r's version which I personally like very much

I understand if you don't like it...sorry but I'm not going to change anything to it. This is my definitive version

As I said, since we use 90% of the time the acceleration version and we use the regular one only for safe or defensive shots, for this particular aim I think it looks a lot better since it has more top-spin on it and it's slower

Manutoo can put also the acceleration version for each animation if he wants

Well, for me it doesn't look that different...the difference is that on my animation, he puts right away the left hand on the racquet...I chose that to give it a different look from the acceleration version

Here as you can see, he does that more often

Thing with Fed is that sometimes his forehand slightly changes from match to match lol. I watched another video with him and his forehand was different from the one you showed me. Looks like we have a nice forehand after all :) any idea when manutoo updates the game? and can you upload the changed serve as well ? Btw cel mai tare esti Luciane,ai talent la animat :) serva mi se pare incredibila..

dont spam... you told him the same thing for 3 times already, just because he didnt reply to you doesnt mean he didnt see you first message, and your second message...

By the way Lucian, Im thinking you could improve his feet positioning from his forehand a bit(prolly the way he holds the racquet as well), because if you did try to copy Feds forehand from the video you gave me (Federer - Gasquet) then thats just him warming up, and he doesnt really stretch as much as he does in his matches.

This is what Im talking about:
