Hello everyone,

Would anyone be interested in recreating classic courts?I know torto has made some,but it would be soo cool for old timers like me,to be able to recreate the old ATP Tour with Old School Courts.

Since Torto has done a fabulous jobs at recreating old outfits ,it would go perfectly together...

I will try to start modding myself,in creating courts ( 2D or 3D)of that time...

Can anyone help me to start creating? Never done and I would like to contribute to the community instead of just taking...

I have a few more old courts (US Open 1990, Australian Open 1990, Monte-Carlo, Rome and Miami from some time in in the 90s) half finished (I'll finish them some time )

If you want to make your own 3D courts, the best thing to do is look at already existing ones, see what parts of the texture fit the different areas of the model and the alter them to fit your new court. Making a texture isn't too hard, it just takes a while.

One thing that is harder about making the old stuff is that you have to sometimes dig a little deeper to find good reference images of what you are making (Youtube seems the best option for old courts).

You will need a good editor (Photoshop, GIMP etc..) if you have one already.

I tried and I Must admit it s more than a little complicated for me...Would you mind sharing yours and making more ,so that we can have more or less of a Old School world tour?

I can do them in a few days probably, I other requests first.

Still a long way from having a full tour though.

What problems are you having? If you keep trying you will surely improve, I have learnt a lot that way.

well i ll try some more,no worries.if and when you have time,can make masters series,grandslams,and important tournaments only ( such as Stuttgart for exemple,or Milan)...no rush anyways...

I hadnt tried yet,reading the tutorial seemed complicated but I ll launch myself.I m gettin autodesk 3ds and photoshop,would it do the trick?

3ds will allow you to edit the sign.tga (which I don't actually know how to do ) so not to have mirrored logos and signs

Of course, it would also allow to try a new court model, but I think that is very difficult.

I use Photoshop for my textures so yes that should be fine

right then I ll try it.Any suggestion ,for exemple is there a 'blank template ,to start from?or should I take any already existing file and write on it?

Also,any special settings to put on photoshop?how do you get for exemple the monte carlo logo to look soo good?did you copy paste it?

You could start with one of the default stadium textures (courta01 or courtin1).

What Monte-Carlo court do you mean? I haven't released one.

With the logos I usually search google, then paste to photoshop, select with the magic wand and finally, paste on to the stadium texture.

i meant the current monte carlo logo...i m so used to getting your stuff that I thought you did it lol. I ll try with Montreal 1995 and Paris Percy 1995...

Phantastic Issa, I like very much the classic courts, until now I just realized WTA Masters New York 1995.
But in a few days the 2D Open du Maurier 1996 will follow ( see the pic ).
Can anyone create WTA Masters L.A. and Compaq Grand Slam Cup ?

Crel,can you read my mind?I was searching all over the web today for the Du Maurier court..I checked on youtube and found a link from an Agassi Sampras final there..

That was the one I was willing to make and then you make it that s cool...

Also torto,can i make classic courts requests,like I did for the classic outfits before?like two or three at a time?

You know me,I wont harass you,and I ll let you all the time to do them.

Just tell me if I can request some..

About the requests, yes of course you can make them; do you want to wait until I've done the ones that have been started? Should be a few days a least, I have a load of WTA outfits and another court to do first.
