Hi all,

I developed a little tool allowing the modification of all the names in the players base (ATP or WTA ini files).
You will see that it's an very old fashion GUI (but except me who cares ?).
There are 6 rules of names conversion:

'Roger Federer' => 'ROGER FEDERER'
'Roger Federer' => 'Roger FEDERER'
'Roger Federer' => 'R.FEDERER'
'Roger Federer' => 'R. FEDERER'
'Roger Federer' => 'Federer'
'Roger Federer' => 'FEDERER'

Note that:

this will modify all the names for all the players.
this solution is not perfect because you will lose information for the players (firstname,...).
The best solution will be to have new data in TE engine (maybe a future Manutoo task I hope ...)

After download, unzip in one of your folder and then launch the file "ediTEnv".

I only tested this tool under Windows 7 et Windows XP
If it doesn't work, try to launch "vcredist_IA64.exe" or "vcredist_x86.exe".
And it does not still work, tell me: there is another solution...

I have a problem: it asks me for "both files" the original and the "converted file"... What do it means by that? :/

Hi sam (thx to be the beta tester !),

I said it's an old fashion interface so given without any help !

So to use it:

1) select your original players files by clicking the "...' button
Ex.: D:\WonderfulGame\Tennis Elbow 2011\Data\Players.ATP.ini
2) select the name of the new file (the tool will not overwrite the original file)
Ex.: D:\WonderfulGame\Tennis Elbow 2011\Data\Players.ATP_new.ini
3) Click the "RUN" button
4) Replace your original file by the new one (the tool will not overwrite the original file)

If you prefer, I can add an option to overwrite the original file.
If you have any idea to improve the tool, I take !

Ok kersou thanks it works perfectlly! But unfortunately the fact that the names become like that in ALL the game bothers me :/ Anyways thank you so much with your contribution I am impatient for your scoreboard update

I use the "'Roger Federer' => 'R.FEDERER'" option to have a little more information...

Hi,
I think you have to activate the DevMode in your "Tennis.ini", launch the game, change your name and then deactivate the DevMode.

Kersou can you please create an option to make everything back to normal? For example FEDERER back to Roger Federer (I want this just in case I want to change lol) I would REALLY be grateful, really! Thank you for all the great modding!

Ok it's possible! But I will create it after the new scoreboard...

YES man you're awsome! I have a backup of my original file but the problem is since I have used the tool to make every name like FEDERER I have modified pretty much the file (but not the names! only little things...) so I can't backup with the old file == it would be practical if the tool enabled me to retransform the names.

Ok I understand!
With a text editor, you can easily modify the converted file: indeed the tool store the full name in the new property FullName (not used by TE)
Before save your modified file
So in the editor just do a replace all of the following word:
1) "Name" by "OldName"
2) "FullOldName" by "Name"

kersou I don't understand how to do these modifications! (do you mean I manually replace all these?? ) Please tell me the exact steps Isn't there a way you add this option to your tool?
