Editing your world tour player? [and Training Settings]

Postby sphanlon » 09 Feb 2009, 06:05

I know to open the Players.ATP.Ini to edit regular players, but I remember having fun in TE2006 manipulating my tour player outside the confines of the game's progression system. How do I change my tour player form outside the game? I tried opening the .sav files, but they never seem to load up and display anything.

Hello,

AFAIK, you couldn't edit your own player with TE2006 either...

In TE2009, you can raise the skill drop rate a lot, and raise the experience point earned during the matches, and the quickness of the training, so all in all, it gives u the ability to "edit" ur player at each training phase...

Wait for the next update before to look in the "Tennis.ini", coz some params are missing in it are right now...

Yeah, I was going to edit my post that I remember it was actually something to do with training not directly the skills. So can you do those things you described now? Or is all of it to come in the next update and when would that be(loose estimate)?

I just checked and actually, it's already in the latest version ; open the Tennis.ini , and locate the [WT_Training] section.
PbH means : Points used By Hour ; raise it to be able to spend more points during training
Gain scales the experience points earned ; raise it to earn more XP

Beginner is not in the list, so does it get you nothing for xp? Like a penalty for playing too easy? And what does dim mean? And what values can you use for the PbH and gain? I assume if you put some ridiculous number, it won't even read it right or glitch or something.

As stated in the Tennis.ini : every day, Skill = Skill * Dim ... It means the Dim is there to lower (diminish) the skills...

PhB & Gain are scaler, ie: multiply them by 2 to get 2 times more points.
There's no checking done on them, so u can even set them as negative to produce some nice glitches... ;)

Beginner settings are tied with the Club ones.

I set the dim to 1 to take skill degrade out of the game, but I'm afraid of the game glitching if the training points and hours keep adding up. Will it be ok, or should I set pbh and gain to zero after I don't need training anymore?

No worry, the experience points are capped, so u shouldn't run in any trouble...

When I created my new player, I inadvertently made him with a one-handed backhand. Is there any way to change that to a two-handed BH, or am I screwed and have to delete him and re-create him? I've played a quite few matches with him, and have climbed up in the ranks, so I hate to start all over again, but I liked my last player's 2HBH better.

Thanks for your help.

I added the possibility to change it when using the DevMod=1 (in the Tennis.ini) ; it'll be there with the next update (that should arrive tomorrow)

Thanks! That sounds good!
Next question, what is DevMod=1? Does that line have to be added to tennis.ini?

Thanks again!

yup, in the "Tennis.ini" (or the .ini of ur custom profile), change this line, under [3dEngine], from :
DevMode = 0
to :
DevMode = 1

Belford, for your own player in World Tour ?
If so, as said just above, edit the file "C:\Program Files\Tennis Elbow 2009\Tennis.ini", and then go to your Character Sheet, and click on the little icons on the left of your Banck Hand skills.
