Editing schedule

Postby luisrha » 24 Nov 2008, 08:04

Great game, manutoo, congratulations!

As I did for TE06, I want to edit the schedule file to add more tournaments (in this case, the $10k Futures to allow players around 700-1000 in the ranking to have activity, as they almost don't play in the current game).

Is there a tourneys limit for a regular week? I'm thinking about adding two or three $10k Futures per period. I remember last time the file was causing problems in Davis Cup week, so I'll be careful adding tournaments for that one.

Hello,

you can have up to 30 tournaments / week = Main Draw + Qualies , so u can put max 15 tournaments per week if they have a qualif Draw.

But you'll probably not fill anymore tournament than right now (except maybe on a very few weeks). The players which aren't playing in Singles are usually playing in Doubles (and vice versa).
I already spent some time to max up the players' activity.
Also, players which play many qualies but never make it to the main draw have a their tournament counter at 0.

I hadn't noticed what you said about the Singles/Doubles... it's just that I hate to see that players ranked below 700 almost never had singles activity (not even in qualies), it feels unrealistic.

I'm thinking about reducing most Futures qualies to just 2 rounds (as it happens in a lot of them in real life). Also, I see that in the game some players from main circuit actually plays in both draws sometimes, this could happen also with low ranked players in Futures, right?

I'll work on this the next days. Once I make it work, I'll upload it in case anyone wants to try it.

BTW, if anyone knows when the 2009 ATP schedule will be complete please let me know, I'm willing to update the entire file... yes, I have a lot of free time...
