In my world tour mode the high seeds always seem to lose early. For example, in the australian open none of djokovic, federer, nadal, del potro, tsonga, ferrer, berdych, etc. made it past the round of 16. Most of them lost even earlier. This also happens in masters tournaments. Kind of annoying to play the likes of Martin Klizan in a grand slam final. I was wondering if there was anything in the game I could do to change this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

in what year(s) does it happen ?
You can try to raise their rank target (ie: RankPerYear) in the Players.ini (in Data subfolder).

im only in my first year (2013). That was at the australian and they all also lost early in miami and indian wells with raonic and cilic winning those tournaments. If I edit rankperyear and their skills in the players.ini, do I need to start a new game for the changes to take affect?

check the rank-per-year values into players.ini file...they also affect players performances and you can set them accordingly just in case

Yes, you need to restart the game for players.ini changes to take affect.

no, there's no need to restart ; the saved games become invalid when you do a change that requires you to start a new game.

disagree...saved games does not become invalid if you only set different rank p/y values and keeping the number of year unchanged...this is in my experience...
by the way restarting the game is required because I suppose the new file will be charged when starting a new game session!

Hum, got confused between "restarting" as in "starting a new game", and "relaunching the game" ; if Petar11 meant the later, then yup, need to relaunch the game when changing files.
