Ranking After Miami

Postby TTennisfan » 16 Apr 2008, 04:52

Hi everyone the draw has been released to the site
http://www.freewebs.com/tenniselbowtour/rankings.htm

Sorry to say, but i reset all Result from the past (before Indian Wells) so all players have a new Position! except S.Williamz .
If i reset it's because that i didn't know how Stuey count, but what can I say is that i count points like in real ATP, and the Masters Race isn'T released yet!

Umm was it really necessary to wipe out all these previous results? What good does that do? I'm not complaining...lol Image

I don't feel it's the right thing to do I mean we all played hard to earn those points...lol I feel you are exceeding your moderating powers just a tad.

@A-RAD: What tournament i count in is Miami and Indian WElls

@S.williamz : Like i said in my previous post, i don'T know how stuey count points, few days ago he had given me a fold (where there were all the notes) to help me a little bit with the rank, so i was able to see all sh*t that he made before. There is a new calendar to follow, and in the previous calendar MonteCarlo Did not even exist. If you want as proof I can give you the document via MSN, to prove to yourself that I do not make any cheating or the other things of this kind. If I begin again ranks it is so that next year it will be much easier for me to remove points for peoples than they did not reach their previous objective example
for u this Miami(08) {Winner:500}
next year Miami (09) {Q.Finals:125} So u lose 500-125 points= 375 Points
Understand?

Take it easy. Points are gone in the beginning of each tournament anyway, like when for example Miami rerolls, I have lost all points from last year in the beginning anyway. You get that right? It's like whole new points are to be won. Last years points do not matter, neither does what system Stuey used the last time the tournament was played, so it makes absolutely zero sense to remove these results. You shouldn't do that.

those results aren'T removed it's only that it doesnt count for the rank(current rank). and seriously when i say Stuey's system i mean that winner of Grand Slam wins 700 points around (don't know exactly) anyways i'm gonna send u the fold?would u like ! u think that i want to cheat by removing good results of old tournaments by BlackyM, Jazzo, Stuey, U, Pukovnik!
Really not!

No no bud I don't think you're trying to cheat at all, I think you're trying to do a good job, as I said take it easy, I'm just saying it doesn't make sense to remove the POINTS. I want to see my previous tournament points in the ranking that's all. Just doesn't make sense to remove them all I'm saying. Having them there will not make your job any more difficult as when those tournaments are played again the previous points are gone and totally new points are given according to results and your ranking point system!

So the new system is like a real ATP tour, right? Grand slam winner = 1000 points, ISG tourney winner = 250 points, standard tourney winner = 175 points etc?

What will follow in 2009? They want to double all points on the main tour (stupid idea IMO), so GS winner will get 2000 points etc. Will you stick to the old ranking system?

And one more question: Now that you are the operator, do you have some file where you keep data about how many points has every player to defend in particular weeks?

You can follow the ATP rules all you want but keeping the previous results counting won't stop you from following your new rules...I find it very lame and unfair to remove the points.
