Doubt about consistency attribute

Postby javilupsi » 26 Jun 2026, 17:09

Hello, Manu:

1. I know that with FH and BH, the more consistency you have, the longer/shorter you can hit. Its like you would have more depth range with your shots. But I guess it depends on a lot of things: ball incoming speed, position, inertia of the player, ball effect, etc... Logic tells me that, overall, having more consistency would always be better than having less consistency. Is this right or there could be a situation where less consistency is better? Like with topspin stat for example, where sometimes its better to hit flatter.

2. With serves, the more consistency, the higher 1st serve % you can get, in relation to serve power, if I am not mistaken. I know it can make your second serve faster too, but I dont know anything else. Can that % average be calculated? Does every 1% of difference related to power affect in the same ammount, over or below power? Does serve consistency really matter that much? Maybe it just increases the % a little...

Thanks for your time!

Hello,

1) In some edge cases, having a higher consistency on a strike prepared late can lead to a bigger chance for it to end fault. But overall, it's always better to have a high consistency.

2) yup, Serve Consistency is important, the formula is quite complicated, but you can test it yourself by putting it at 0 & 100% and see the difference in the Serve Training.
