Different animations for different shots

Postby anrox335 » 08 Feb 2026, 16:01

It would be great if we could mod the drop shot, lob shot, top spin or even have different animations for a well-prepared shot and an unprepared running shot. I think we can even use some of the animations from the current mods to have different shot animations.

Hello,

it'd be possible to add drop & lob anims, but the preparation time before hitting the ball should be identical for each variation. (so it's not possible to mix random existing anims)

The topspin strike could be trickier as it's possible to dose the amount of spin, but I guess it'd be possible to just play it as soon as the user puts a bit of topspin in his strike.

For the unprepared shot, I'm not sure ; I guess it could be possible to show it if the user still didn't press any strike button a certain time before hitting the ball...

Did you already create some anims ?

That would be fine I guess. Every player with their unique drop shot animation would be great addition to this game.

The topspin strike could be trickier as it's possible to dose the amount of spin, but I guess it'd be possible to just play it as soon as the user puts a bit of topspin in his strike.

This would be fine too. But AFAIK, isn't the top spin input fixed or is it analog?

That works as well. I just prepared an animation for the unprepared running shot. What I was suggesting is that even other modders can use some of the already created animations for these strikes.

There are already a lot of existing very similar animations that could be used for each shot if they were configurable in the character sheet for example use Nadal forehand for topspin and another one for normal shots and a different one for accelerations, also kidders would create lob and drop shots animations in a pinch if they knew they would get added into the game as selectable, if you ever had considered adding this manu it really would be greatly appreciated as immersion would be a lot higher overall through all game modes
