Outfits and animations for generated players

Postby holt77 » 16 Sep 2025, 18:55

Hi,

When new players are generated in future years, if you're playing with XKT or other mods, will they sometimes randomly be allocated outfits and animations from the mod, or will they always be given outfits and animations from the base game? Just curious, as I see quite a few generated players with branded outfits.

Also, if the new player does get an outfit or animation from the mod, is it always from the player they're replacing, or is it random?

Hello,

all players who don't have an outfit will randomly use any parts available : base game + Mods.

Hi,

Another quick question regarding players generated in fictional years.

Is it possible to change their appearance? I know you can create new looks and add outfits for existing players in the data files, but not sure if it's possible with the fictional ones. The main reason I'm asking is that sometimes players from certain countries are generated and the skin tone isn't quite right. In my current test game, new generated players from Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria are all white.

So, I guess another question would be is there somewhere in the files that we can specify a range of skin tones for players generated from each country?

There was a bug : for the Pure Juniors ( = the Junior players who will never make it to Pro) the skin color was assigned before their country, leading to the result you have noticed. It's fixed for the next update (when generated a new career start or on a new year), thanks to your report..!

It's not possible to define the skin per country ; it's done per zone (eg: Africa) within the engine and it's not configurable.

Great, thanks for the fix!

Thanks, this is useful to know.

In my own data mod, I've updated some of the country names in the Countries_English.txt file. If I also update the zone for some of the countries, does that mean it would change the generated players' appearances for those countries? For example, if I moved some of the North African (Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia etc.) countries to the Middle East zone in the file, would their generated players be created according to Middle East zone, rather than the Africa zone?

I'm not sure if this would affect anything else in the game. I know the country zones are important in TEM2, but not sure what part they play in TE4, other than perhaps to make players slightly more likely to play in tournaments in their own zone when there is a choice?

Yes, you can change any country's Zone to change its players' skin colors ; in the base game, it's only used for TEM2 travel cost ; modding allows to create Zoned tournaments but there are none in the base games.
