Few questions from documentation

Postby xman » 08 Mar 2025, 12:47

Hi @manutoo I have a few questions, hopefully you can help me and explain some questions.

1. Precision/power - OK, I read the documenation and understand that if you have for example 70%power 100%precision then your precision is better than 100%power and 100% precision. And if you have 70% precision and 100% power, then you hit faster shots, right? How weaker are your shots with for example 70%power and 100% precision? Like exactly how many km/h ? And also, does having power baseliner and acceleration trait improve the power? Also what about precision? What exactly is "precision" ? Will you hit closer to the line and also longer shots?

2. Counter skill. What does this skill mean and do? Ok, I read "The counter skill is the ability to use the incoming ball speed to send it back faster. So the counter skill gives you a speed bonus of up to 7.5 km/h on your normal and topspin strikes when the ball is coming really fast. Moreover, the higher your counter skill is, the less you are constrained by fast incoming balls, but the slow incoming balls are also a bit less easy for you."

So counter skill has no influence on acceleration shot, only normal and top spin shot right? Ok, but what is it helpful for? I can use normal shot for return - does it mean I will return strong serves better with higher counter skill? So, is it better to have this skill on 100% no matter the playing style? I really dont get it.

3. Focus. "It's relative to "(speed + muscle tone) / 2", so if the Focus is above that, your player will prepare his strikes faster, leading to more accuracy and depth, as well as a better chance to attack the ball when needed ; if it's under, it'll be the opposite." Another part I dont understand very well. Ok, now I have both speed and muscle tone on 100% and also the focus on 100%. That means (100+100) / 2 and my focus is the same as speed and muscle tone? Does it mean my player is not preparing fast enough? Is it better to lower speed and muscle tone a bit, right?

4. Top spin "Topspin gives your player a bonus on clay & slow surfaces (higher for rally players, and lower for volley players), but it makes your player tired a bit faster, whatever the surface is." Ok, so for Power Baseliner is it better to have Topspin over 50% right?

Thanks, hopefully you can help me with those.

Hello,

1) 70 Prec / 100 Pow = same speed than 100 Prec / 100 Pow
You have to appreciate the change of speed by yourself : there are way too many rules to give you any numbers.
The player style doesn't influence the strike speeds except on the shoulder accelerations.
The Acceleration traits do and it's explained in their tooltip.
More precision = smaller aiming zone.

2) Basically, higher Counter skill = faster defense strikes. It's up to you to decide if it's good for you or not.

3) Up to you, however you should likely not make your Focus under (Speed + Muscle Tone) / 2 ; the opposite can help, though

4) Up to you ; the top spin also makes the short accel more efficient (as it gets more spin). It really depends on how you play and feel the game.
