Am I sick if I enjoy playing in the third person view?

Postby ramoncete13 » 27 Feb 2025, 20:11

I bought the game a few days ago and have just played 12 hours. I'm loving the game, but today I tried the third person view and I feel my timing, positioning and shot selection is somewhat better (maybe it's all psychological I don't know). My theory is that, since I've played a lot of tennis irl, maybe it feels more natural to me? Should I embrace this?

ramoncete13,
as matservant said, do as you please.
Personally, I enjoy that view as well, but it's possible it might be a bit less effective to read the game. If you play only against the CPU, it's not really a concern, though.

Yeah, that's what I thought! But considering I haven't seen anyone play that way I thought it must be for a reason

Currently, I'm playing against the CPU at level pro. I've been using it for a few hours and noticed the 3rd person view camera is fine as long as the rival's shot pace isn't over 80-90. Right now I'm playing futures and challengers, but I faced a player whose stats were really good and with so much pace in his shots it was really hard to follow and read his shots. I don't know, because I really like the camera and it helps me read the effect, distance, and positioning.

By the way, manutoo, how does the skill rate decay work? Disabling it is too overpowered? Does it work for the AI as well? I can't find where that's explained.

Thanks!

I enjoy that too, it's normal. Maybe if you struggle with pace but like the camera being at court level, try mild dynamic with the height at 4-6% and aperture around 80-90% with 40-60% zoom.I use that settings and I can compete online at a high level, so the camera wont be a limiting factor for your development as a player if that's what you're worried about.

Many thanks for the counsel, Jirafalox! I'll try that as soon as I play. I've been changing the camera a lot during the last three hours of play and I feel like I should finally choose one
