Hi,

I noticed that when starting a career in TE4 without TEM2 merged, you can choose the starting age of an existing player. However, when trying to start a career with the games merged, I can't seem to find an option to do this.

Is there a way to set the starting age of an existing player for a career when both games are merged? I'd like to start a career but not as a very young player.

Hello,

no, but you can skip the weeks until your player is old enough.

Activate the DevMode to get an additional icon to skip more quickly => topic19-32161.php .

Disable the Weekly news in Settings -> World Tour if they are enabled.

I would also want to start a career with an older player, for instance Federer in 2004, but I don't seem to manage to do it. If I pick Federer the age appears correctly initially, but then when I choose 'Pro' it goes to 17. I also did not find a way to skip tournaments, as the tournament choice menu seems to loop around itself after the 5th week or so of the following year.

Any tips on how to do this?

Oops. I accidentally posted as a "Guest". My question is:

I wanted to do the same thing, like for example start with a current player in 2023 or 2024 with their correct age. For example, start with Sinner as 23 years old... If I pick seasons instead of career will I lose some "features" such as being able to distribute the points to upgrade attributes, etc.?

Thanks for the reply. Do you think it would be feasible to mod this so as to replace the 'historical' skill system of Seasons with the skill decay and training mechanics from the career? Or, alternatively, to make it so that one can start the Career at a later stage of one's career?

I agree that this would be a very nice feature. It would feel unrealistic if you were playing in the Seasons setting and have a very good season with your player, but then when the next year starts, he could have a huge rating drop depending on the real-life/historical data.

at the end of each year, you can choose between keeping your current overall strength and pick the realistic one for the new year.

From what you say then I guess it's something that is not (easily) moddable...

The issue with the new career process is that I built it at 1st for TE2005 and then added layer after layer for each new game and despite some cleaning done for TEM2, it's every time a headache to touch it...

Well, to some extent, since I do not seem to be able to choose the skills of the coach if I activate TEM2 after having started a season without TEM2 (I couldn't find a way to start a season with TEM2 on). The coach skills then are very low.

The Seasons mode might produce unexpected effects if you activate TEM2 on it, even more than the Career mode...
