[Xbox]: Difficulty

Postby ACepero79 » 16 Oct 2024, 16:06

I did a bit of a search for "difficulty" in the board and came upon a post that mentioned:

"from Pro-10 to Master-10, the CPU skills aren't modified"

I'm in the second year of a career that started as a Junior. Lately, I have been playing Pro-10 difficulty. The issue I am having is that the CPU's play can be random. Meaning, I find that I have a tough time with an unranked opponent and then wipe the floor with Alcaraz. Is that normal on Pro-10 difficulty? I am considering bumping up to Master-1, but the above statement seems to indicate that nothing will change.

Any insight?

Hello,

changing the difficulty level will not change that behavior.

It may be because new strong players are generated in your 2nd year (if it's fictional ; ie: after 2022 with the unmodded game), and/or Alcaraz got a low strength during that year.

It could be because of the player style ; eg: you have issues handling volleyers.

You can send me a Bug Report from the Match Presentation screen (by clicking on the top left white icon) if you think a player is too strong.

I'm confused - then what does changing the difficulty do?

If you are suggesting that there will always be variance in terms of how players play according to their attributes - that makes sense because that is present in real life. There are certainly unranked players that play better than expected and there are ranked players that just don't play to form.

But shouldn't upping the difficulty make a match against an opponent that is attribute wise, better than my character, more challenging?

I meant : if your issue is that Alcaraz can be less strong than an unknown player, then raising the difficulty level won't change that.
If you want Alcaraz to be stronger (as well as all other players), then raising the difficulty will do that. :)
