Andy Murray, career simulation

Postby iopzzza » 30 Jul 2024, 20:11

As we all know, tonight could be the last match of Andy Murray's career. And i thought is there a better moment to see what would TE4 say , about his career? Did he underachieved or overachieved?

As difficulty using pro - 10 with no form of the day. His career started in 2006...

Started 53, finished 8th... qualifying for ATP Finals, winning Shangai, Miami and Acapulco in the meantime.

2007 - Started 8th and finished ... 4th, making numerous semi-finals and wining Beijinig and Roterdam this year.

2008 - Started 4th and finished 2nd, just behind Nadal. Won Bronze at the 2008 Olympics and made his first Slam Final (US open Lost to Nadal), Also won Acapulco, Rome, Shangai and Beijinig.

2009 - Won Paris Masters and Montreal. Capitalised on Novak, Rafa and Roger losing early at RG and managed to win his first slam! Which gave him the year end number 1!

2010 - Won only Paris Masters and some other small tournaments, but lost RG round 1 which meant he finished the year world number 3.

2011 - As for Big titles - Monte Carlo and Cincinati. Average performance at slams, finished the year number 3 agin.!

2012 - Wining 3 ATP 500 , One atp 250, Madrid, Cincinati, Shangai and Paris masters... Although losing the Olympics final, he again managed to capitalise on THE BIG 3 losing early and won RG again.
Needless to say he finished number 1.

2013 - Only 1 Big title - Rome Masters. Finished Number 3

2014 - Wimby final, but other than that Indian Wells title and a few atp 500. Again Number 3.

2015 - Miami Open winner, RG finalist was enough to put him in 2nd spot at YE.

2016 - As we could guess, his best year so far. Made all 4 finals, Won Australia and Wimby and lost Roland Garros and US Open. Won all masters without Miami, Madrid and Toronto and won Olympics in Rio.
Number 1 by a mile.

2017 - The begigning of the downfall... Although not to such extremes as in real life, his regress was visible and won only 1 masters title (Rome) and finished number 8.

2018 and 2019 - Won 0 titles overall and finished both season as world number 20.

2020 - A ltitle bit better winning Cincinati and qualifying for tour finals for the first time in 2 years.

2021 - A season to forget , semifinals here and there , but finished 11th.

2022 - Even worse, finished 17-th with highlight of the season behing Shangai Semifinal.

2023 - No big titles finished around 15th again.

2024 - His final season, a last push... Started great with winning Miami, Semifinals at Roland Garros and he was so close to win the Olympics also but finished second...
