Hi Manu, can you help me clarify the precision stat with these 4 ATP players:
----
Average First Serve Speed (MPH):
Gustavo Kuerten 119
Daniil Medvedev 122
Ben Shelton 124
Roger Federer 117
Jeremy Chardy 122
Power in TE4 according to your formula:
91
96
99
88
96
--------
1st serve %
54.27%
64.09%
63.21%
62.22%
61.98%
Consistency TE4 Stat =
72
89
91
79,2
86,5
----
For the precision two datas are helpful: nb of aces per game (best season) & unreturned serve rate in career
0,76 0,415
0,75 0,404
0,73 0,447
0,73 0,413
0,73 0,415
------------
So if we take Chardy & Federer, they have comparable stats in aces & unreturned, but Chardy's average speed is higher. How much should we give to Chardy & Federer?
Another issue: if we give Isner 100 in power, 100 in consistency, 100 in precision, his precision would be lower than a Federer if he gets a higher precision stat than his power....
So I don't know how to balance that.
In my opinion, Serve Precision should not be correlated to power because powerful servers get less precision... And the stats show they can be at the same time the most powerful and the most precise.
