What i mean is when you start a match u start on a certain side of the court with the umpire to the right. What i want to do and was able to do in previous versions is to keep that position on this side of the court as in no switching sides because switching sides is harder to play because the camera spans so badly it throws me off of my game!

Edit: I think what i am talking about is that the game never used to switch sides as in no switching took place between either player! Now even though in the tennis.ini swapends is set to 0 under world tour and this still occurs!

I think I know what you are saying. I tried the 'Switch Sides' option, but didn't care for it- it threw me off so bad, I couldn't take a single point. Unfortunately, I turned off the 'Switch Sides' option while I was still on the far side of the court. To fix it, I had to turn 'Switch Sides' back on, wait until I was on the near end of the court (looking at my back), then turn it off.

I have it set to 'Auto' under the Camera settings, and swapends=0 in tennis.ini

Is that what you mean?

SC Tom, I have no idea what you're talking about when u mention the 'Switch Sides' option ..?
"Swapends" doesn't do anything now, and you can change the camera Ends anytime u want from the "Camera" menu...

In screenshot 1 you can see that this is the starting position and previous to the build 59 this would never change

And now you can see that the players switch sides where i get poor lighting and also it is more difficult to hit shots especially backhands where i have to considerably move way more into the shot just to reach the ball

manutoo,
I'm thinking of before these last two builds, I think. Instead of the Camera menu, it used to be a Swap Ends option, and that was where I ran into trouble. Wasn't that in TE2011? (Of course, I may be mistaken  )

megadam,
The "poor lighting" that you're seeing is the shadows from the sun after the players change ends. Personally, I like it- it adds a bit more realism to the game. I generally play in the early morning (real tennis, not TE2011  ), and the lighting in the game reminds me of how it is on the courts I play on.

Actually the screenshot doesn't show that the lighting is poor in terms of the fact that it is too bright. It looks normal in the screenshots but in game for some reason it looks a lot brighter and can become difficult to see the ball.
And i agree that the normal lighting is realistic like when i play tennis in real life as well. It is well done!

Actually its just an optical illution. Because of the shadows created on the objects surfaces(players, etc.), it seems that the light is brighter, but it is not. I am not sure but for those that have problem with this situation, it might be removed by turning off the shadows, not sure for this one.

Another thing I've noticed is how often the players come together on the court and stay there, without separating to go for the ball. This happens not only with our opponents, but my idiot partner ;) grabs my shadow and stays with it, if you know what I mean.

Here they are just as we took the point.

And here's the one player that's left. I guess the other one ran down the tunnel to the restroom :)

This happens quite a bit. It seems more prevalent when we're both back, and one of us rushes the net and volleys deep to a corner. It's great when the opponents do it, leaving the whole court open, but not so great when it happens to my team :(

SC Tom, ok I think I found what was wrong, so hopefully, it'll be fixed for next update.
