Defensive lob: slice animation?

Postby Bus » 08 Aug 2023, 04:01

Hi Manu, I hope the moral is good! When I play the game, I often think that the defensive lob should go with a slice animation. On a real court, defensive lobs are often made with that slice movement, when you need to control a fast ball or when you are pressed, and you need to slow the pace. Plus it would distinct better this lob from the offensive one: you often hit those lobs with a spin when you want to attack a player who charged the net (so the current animations in the game feel right for offensive lobs).
Maybe the defensive lob should also go with a slower rebound?

Do you think that would be a good idea? Could it be implemented?

Hello,

I tried that and it felt too weird to see lobs without slice done with an obvious slice movement. But I agree it'd be nice to have a dedicated anim for the defensive lob as it's not well represented by the default strike animation.

For the speed itself, before & after the rebound, I think it's realistic enough.

you can hit slice lobs, which could be what you're after. Although not super effective on defense
