About stress, 1st serve and skill decay

Postby Algo » 29 May 2023, 04:26

Hi Manutoo

I've been playing World Tour extensively for a week or two and there are a few things that could probably use some improvement

- I think the easiest to fix would be adding 2 more options: 25 and 75%. I feel that at 50% I can't seem to get enough experience to compensate for the skills lost and also get enough to train some other skills, this is especially true when you reach 90% at one or several. And I feel 0% is similar to cheating.
- I can't give you a list of the players I've observed are having abysmal 1st serve percentages but some of them are shooting below 40%, especially early on.
- On the flip side I guess, I think the stress bar should be far more "interactive" for lack of a better term. What I mean is that in reality, your stress level changes second to second, and ok, that's impossible to achieve. Still, it's also unreasonably unresponsive to see some players not get stressed ever, or just at the end of a set. What I would like, if possible, is for the stress meter to change after every point, even if it's minimal.

I play at Master 10, for reference.

Hello,

1) It's about the Skill Decay (you forgot to write it ;) )
If 50% gives a too-strong Decay, then 100% is way too strong and should be tuned. How many tournaments do you do per year ? For how many matches won ?
Could you send me a Bug Report so I could check in detail your skills ? (HowTo => topic5-31732.php )

2) 40% is still acceptable, but if significantly below 40% and they're not on a bad day, it's annoying, though. (you can check it by pressing F6)

3) Hum, it doesn't match my experience on a real court nor what I saw when watching pros ; there are a few key points where the player can be stressed (so quick up/down), and then there's a global stress that evolves quite slowly.

1) So far in this season, I have 49 wins over 15 tournaments (and I'm currently playing Shanghai so week 41)

2 and 3) I'll have a better look.

Thanks
