Risk shots are way to easy especially as a return ace

Postby polakis » 03 Apr 2023, 00:55

I play every day for hours with a friend offline. I have to say that risk shots are way to easy especially as a return ace. Its almost a joke of how much agressive and overpowered are the acceleration returns. I think you need to tune them down a bit. Every point is an acceleration festival of returns.

On simulation control, the accelaration have to be only a bit more risky. Otherwise, it will become like T13 where it was almost impossible to make return-ace.

We play elite controls and we make every acceleration return ace. Its not normal. You can play every point with acceleration button all the hits. Not normal

polakis,
from what I saw, I don't think Jijo & Mystery are able to do only accelerations while playing with the Simulation controls, so I'm surprised you can do that with the Elite controls. :scratch:

Could you send me a Bug Report at the end of your next match with your friend so I could have a look at that ? (HowTo => topic5-31732.php )

Even on Arcade mode, I feel the acceleration shot is too fast. In some cases it is like ping pong. I wish the acceleration shot could be not as fast. I can hit winners almost at will against the cpu.

Brad1981,
did you mean Elite controls ? Arcade is significantly easier so you can do accelerations most of the time. With Elite controls, the acceleration can be as fast as with the Simulation controls, but it's much "easier" to do a fault or a poor acceleration.

Yes, for all modes the acceleration shot gets too fast most of the time. I understand having it fast for overheads and short balls, but even rally shots deeper in the court I feel like I can put the CPU on the defense easily most of the time even at Master level.
I prefer to play on Arcade mode as it is more free-flowing with less stoppages. It would also be nice to have a "Super Arcade" mode, with even fewer errors possible. But I would love to see the ability to adjust the speed of the acceleration shot by itself. Otherwise, maybe lower it 10-20% and have it faster as a Bonus setting or something.

Brad1981,
for the next update, you can add these lines in your Tennis.ini : (HowTo => topic19-32161.php )
Code: Select all
[Controls]
DiffX_Simu   =   1
DiffX_Arcade   =   0.5
DiffX_Elite   =   1.25
Precision_Simu   =   1
Precision_Arcade=   2
Precision_Elite   =   0.75

Then lower DiffX_Arcade & raise Precision_Arcade according to your tastes. Then switch your player to Simulation controls & back to Arcade, to fetch the new values.

For the strike speed, maybe something will come if I ever get to tuning the player capabilities depending on the era (ie: slower tennis with less topspin in the 80's & 90's)

It would be great for me to play like the 80s too.

I recently played a single tournament with Mats Wilander, Rome, year 1988, Junior10, and I tried to play like him at the time, but the others hit hard every now and then, so to win the matches I had to distort my new player at some point, and play like tennis today.
Italy winner of the 2023 Davis Cup. Thanks guys!

How do I access these values ? I can't find them in the Tennis.ini file
