I've looked for solution in forum and can't find any. During gameplay when I'm aiming to left or right only sometimes the ball will go in that direction.other times it just goes straight down the middle. Any advice?

with a controller, not the keyboard, right ?

Turn on the Aiming Preview in your Character Sheet to see what's going on exactly.

Maybe you release the strike button before hitting the ball..?
