Going many years in the future to play careers of players who start around 2017 and then careers of people who start around 2040. At the end of 2044, as 2045starts, the game crashes - I sent a report on one of the crashes.

Is this because there aren't enough players?

Related - in the late 2030's there are players on tour who aren't in PlayersATP.ini. Where do these come from? The names are from PlayersATP.txt. Does the game generate players? If so, why do they run out (if that's what's happening for the crash?) Is this related to maxplayer in PlayersATP.ini? Is it related to FreePlayerSlots in PlayersATP.ini?

If possible, I'd like to go one generation more - to about 2065. Would creating additional players and/or changing maxplayer or FreePlayerSlots stop the crash after 2044?

It's there : C:/Users/<YourUserName>/AppData/LocalLow/Mana Games/Tennis Elbow 4/Profiles/Frank/Tour00.sav .

2) Yes, the game generates new players all the time ; the hard limit is ~32'000, which should take around 300 years of play to reach. So your crash is likely unrelated.

Ok, so actually, it crashes coz there are too many active players that year..!
It means there's some nasty bug somewhere because I think the active pool should be constant once in the fictional years, but you should be able to avoid the crash by changing this line in your Players.ini, from :
MaxActivePlayer = 1750
to :
MaxActivePlayer = 2000

It worked - have gone through 2052 now without trouble, but had to make the max 4000. At 2000, it was crashing after 2046.
