Problem with missing players RankPerYear

Postby iopzzza » 18 Feb 2022, 03:51

Hello, Manutoo. I've noticed some players like Sonwoo Kwon and a lots of others, which dont have Rank Per Year, for they're whole careers, become super overpowered, like better than Nadal and Djokovic. And the year is 2020. In no world Sonwoo Kwon will have 2850 overall stats :D.
He is not the only problem, though.

Also, the only way to edit player stats, is through ini file, manually? Right?

Hello,

1) 2020 is partly a fictional year, so the rankings of many players are more or less random.

2) Yes

@Manu

I've started to edit the Players.WTA ini file in order to bring back realism into the tour year 2021 and onwards, where fictional players exist and other real players have no ranking.

What I've done is check the end ranking for 2021 in the game, for example, and player by player check who is a real player (but low ranked) or non existing player.

Thus I've encountered funny issue - there are players in the end of year 2021, who don't exist in real world, don't appear in the Players.WTA ini file, but still appear in the ranking, for example:

Bo Ra Cho (South Korea) ended as world n2 in the world at end of 2021, but is missing in the ini file
Same for Soumeya Dixon (United Kingdom) , Haruka Nozawa (Japan) etc.

Im I missing something here?

Acid_Spot,
2021 is a fictional year, so the game creates fictional players for it. And if you put real players in it, the game will fill the missing ranking ; eg: you put the #1, 2 & 3, then the 1st fictional RankPerYear will be 4, which is good enough to end n°2 with a bit of luck... :)

Thanks Manu :))

So, I simply need to put the real rankings in place for year 2021 and it should solve the case - got it :)

I've already added the real life top 50 ranked players in the .ini file for 2021, however there still seems to be a lot of displacement. Like 30 to 40+ places from the real life rank. I will however keep on editing and see how it goes and will come back if needed. In the meantime, is there any workaround to disabling fictional characters from appearing or since year 2021 and onwards is actually fictional, there's no way around disabling those characters as well?

If you want to disable fictional players in 2021, then in your Players.ini, set LastYear to 2021. But if you have less than ~900 players that year, the game may crash. The game will also crash if you don't have enough players for the Davis Cup.
