good to see it on steam finally, well done, but i am suprised that you didn't upload also the linux version , i hope you will add it soon

unfortunately, the Linux market is extremely small and thus it doesn't justify the time & headaches of maintaining the Linux version, so it won't have a Linux version on Steam for a very long time (ie: not before the game will get less than a couple of update per year).
The Mac market is 4 or 5 times bigger than the Linux market, and I still don't plan to publish the MacOs version on Steam before the end of the month.

that makes me really sad because i was expecting that you release also for linux, i know the MacOs market is bigger 1% vs 5%, if it is just for testing reasons then we the inux users can help you if you want, because i think to build is not very hard with unreal engine.

it's the Unity engine and for example it took me 2 hours to do the last Mac update because I updated to a new Unity version. There are also specific bugs to the Mac version which makes me lose time. I barely can afford this lost time & energy for the Mac version and I surely can't do the same with the Linux version...

ok , maybe you can then make for us all 2 month a linux build, not for steam but for download version?

sure, I'll keep updating the Linux version on Managames.com, but as it'll be on a slower rhythm, it means most of the time it won't be possible to play online with people not having the Linux version.

ok thats not a big issue , but i can play against other Linux players if i want.
Anyway Te4 work under Steam with proton (Proton is a tool for use with the Steam client which allows games which are exclusive to Windows to run on the Linux operating system. It uses Wine to facilitate this.) so as long as it works i can use steam to play against online opponents and play offline with the native version.
I still would prefer a linux steam version, because i think it would be good to also get posted on linux gaming sites, because TE4 is very good on gameplay and i think there is a interest who would buy it native but won't buy it when it is not native, but that's your decision.

I'm assuming Steam updates will happen together (or almost) when the game is finally released, right? Do you think there is any reason for me to keep the Mana Games version installed? My HD space is low, so I try to see what I can delete

yes, once the game will be officially released on Steam (end of next week, normally), then I'll usually update both versions at the same time.
