@manutoo:

Audio Menu -> Fault Calls -> Realistic

That's not correct, I can't change this in the Audio Menu of the basic version from your game, only in the mod versions!

Please correct this!

I think the only shot missing from this game is this one:

When an opponent lobs you,if you don't smash the ball right away, you can't do anything after that.In real tennis, players do the behind the legs shot. So,try to add it to one of your upcoming updates and builds.Thanks.

Also in addition to multiple return stances, please also add the possibility for each players to have his own set of victory signs (fist showing, hitting with racket ect..) Neeky has created many beautiful ones and it's worth being used and used originally :)

I like to use the d-pad for aiming my serves and the stick for moving so is there any way you can add a function to the controls so that I could use both the analog stick and the d-pad?

i wouldnt recommend using stick for moving, then you would probably get problem when moving sideway... it takes more time to change sideway direction with stick compared to d-pad i would think...

i play with this gamepad

and always put my tumb like this, basically i have my tumb bone directly on d-pad... this way i can change direction instantly... especially on returns...

please read manu

Player movement - Forward movement is too slow (this has been mentioned several times in other posts)

The Slice - The current slice looks and behaves properly when the backhand power is at about 60 and is cleanly struck. If it is not cleanly struck it lands short and has almost no bounce, making it almost impossible for the opponent to take advantage of these short balls due to current player forward movement. So many times the advantage goes to the player who is "stretching" to get the ball and throws out a desperation slice only to have a two bounce winner because their opponent couldn't get to the ball in time, or if they did get to it in time, they couldn't do anything with the shot because with elite controls (which are good) and the forward movement they have to play a safe topspin response.
The current slice moves inside out which is true for low to medium struck slices (balls that are struck from the waist to the ground). Slices that are struck from the waist to shoulder cannot have this ball trajectory due to swing mechanics. They are straight slices, they should not move from left to right. Further, slices that are struck above the shoulder tend to fade slightly in the opposite direction of the current slice motion. This is again due to the swing mechanics of high slices. These balls tend to sit up and do not bite as much when they hit the court, making them easier targets for opponents.

Flat Shot - When the ball is not struck cleanly using the elite controls it produces a slow topspin dribble shot that lands short and sometimes clips the net on its way over. Get rid of this slow shot. This does not happen very often in tennis. It should just be a shot that hits the net at full power, which you don't have enough of in the game. The only time that the ball hits the net currently is when the player didn't get to the ball in time to hit a shot and they hit a slow shot into the net. If the player uses the flat shot and does not hit it cleanly instead of that dribble shot, have the player hit the ball hard (same speed as the normal struck flat shot) into the net with variation (some into the mid net, some hitting the tape and going down, some hitting tape and going over short, some hitting tape and going high or high and deep).
Another thing to consider is that hitting high (above the chest) flat inside-out shots tend to move from left to right for a right handed player, moving away from the opponent. You could either add that trajectory for balls struck from the chest up, or make it an additional button that you can push while hitting the flat shot.

Topspin - The topspin shots are a bit too loopy especially if you play with lower power on the ground strokes.

The Short Hop - There are too many errors on short hop balls when using the flat shot on elite controls. Currently they go out every time. Some should go out but some should go in, some should hit the net with all net strike variations mentioned earlier.

Backhand overhand smash - Way too powerful! Should not be anywhere near as hard as the normal smash.

Animations

Variations on the animations, (ie: different animations for a slice on the run, especially the forehand slice squash shot, vs a slice from a set position). Different animations for set ground stroke vs on the run, or coming in (approach). Low, medium and high strike variations along with the proper ball trajectory variations to go with them. Different animations for set defensive lob and defensive lob on the run.

Volley - Current volley animations are very "mechanical" (mentioned in other posts)

Approach shot - Add an approach shot button/animation. This could help you come to net easier, although that is not essential.

Swinging volleys - Add swinging volleys button/animation. These have become a staple part of the modern game. They would be especially useful against slices hit on the run that are floating back.

thanks for making and continue to keep improving the greatest tennis simulator out there we really appreciate it

im a defensiv player, and usually i win points when i should lose them by slicing short and opponent is clueless how to attack short low slice. unrealistic... :applause:

exactly, this is what i was talking before, ive never seen a acceleration in real tennis get to be like a dropshot, usually mishits get crazy crazy topspin and lands near the baseline (if it goes in).... also fix more net variation and more neterrors... i almost never hit net... ?

true true...

Could you possibly activate the folder "MatchEnd" for your next update,or,if you don't want to do that, tell me how to activate it?I want to be able to add different songs in the pause menu and at the end of a match, but I can't,since this folder doesn't work.I would be very grateful if you could do that. Thanks!

ATPexpert,
I never wrote the code to handle the Match end music, so there's nothing to "activate". I may do it if I find the mood & the time...

Hi,

This is a great, realistic game. Of course, like every other game, it can have some improvements.

My main problem with the game is the player's movement. I feel like they are too heavy, specially moving foreward. I see that they are going to drop shot so immediately I move forward but instead of running, it speed walks.

The volleys are also mechanical, like someone said before. I wish that if we had a high ball to the backhand, maybe players with double handed backhands could smash them
back in.

Other than that, the game is pretty strong. It will keep improving for sure.

The smash need to be stronger, its speed should be near the 1st service instead of forehand.

And I suggest again that forehand should be much stronger than backhand. We need a mode to confirm it besides fair mode and free mode.
