Well the game gets better and better as i play it again and again lol... according to me i would like to suggest to increase the speed of b1+b2 strike because i think the ball is too loopy for a b1+b2 shot ..it would be awesome if the ball went a bit more flatter because i cant really say when my ball will go as winner because im thinking in my mind no way this can be winner its too high and guess what it turns out to be a winner lol ...ive seen the preview 2 and the pace of the ball is quite good but if you can get the pace just a notch down then that would be gr8
and the things which i liked in the new version are ofcourse the players with all the new and chic looking apparels :P lol and even i liked how the screen moves thats a really good solution to our problems for slice serves etc.

The shots are not monotonous ..lots of variety and when i am able to execute a volley then its really exqusite looking but when i am unable to do it ,its horrendous...at the moment having a bit of a tough time volleying but hopefully you will help us in the future and the slice especially backhand one is really really nice :D good job manu i cant wait for the whole game to be released :D

ahmedcoolio, you can increase the speed of b1+b2 by raising the power of the shots in the .ini, as well as lowering the topspin. There's also an in-game variation of the spin... I'll explain more soon if u can't figure it out by urself... ;)

About volleys, here a tip : carefully look the green zones on the big red/green "thing"... 8-)

Well i pretty much have no complains left i know now how to decrease the topspin ..now its so much more fun i love it:D and i figured out how to volley ..now being to the net is no more a nightmare hehe ...perhaps my only tiny concern is the movement well thats not a major issue for me but the players seem to slide a bit but that doesnt matter a lot..the forehand swing looks more complete now and the slice serve is gr8 well nothing more to add than saying GOOD JOB sry GREAT JOB hehe

Quand on crée des terrains qu'est ce qu'il ne faut pas qui ait!? (par exemple : est ce qu'il faut enlever les juges ,le filet, les spectacteurs etc)

Ok, I have detailed all the new concepts in this topic :
http://www.managames.com/Forum/ftopic1496.php

But please, try to figure out by urself before reading the explanations...
My goal is to try to make these explanations not necessary to enjoy the game at 1st..! (else many people wouldn't like it... :? )

About the movements, it's mainly same than TE2006 : when striking the ball, the legs don't move anymore, even if the body is still moving... :roll:
In the future, I'll try to improve that, but it's not a top priority right now, as it's not too important to enjoy the gameplay...

TTennisfan, extract the file "/Data/Court07/Court.jpg" and u'll have ur answer..! ;)

are there going to be different groundstrokes. Like different ways to hit them. OR will we all have the same groundstrokes. I mean seriously because that backhand follow through is brutal.

hey i was just wondering. i have been playing against the computer, it started in a very difficult way, but i managed go until "level 4" by beating each player 6-0. but then on level 4 the opponent doesn't move many times. and even when i win 6-0 there is no other level. so is it because it is just the 1st try out version?

Some minor suggestions(sorry if some are mentioned already)...

There is a nice slice animation on the backhand, but it doesn't happen all the time, and I think it should. Also it seems there isn't a forehand slice animation, I think that should be there also.

I think when you run out of accelerations, pressing b1+b2 button should result in the normal shot, rather than the weak shot. I found that very annoying (also in the 2007 game).
I have a suggestion, obviously not sure at all would it work in reality, but it sounds good to me in my head(lol)...maybe there shouldn't be a separate normal shot and an acceleration, but they would be the same button. And the longer you press the button, the more power you get. Now it wouldn't be very easy to hit a very powerful shot, as obviously when you start pressing the button, you cannot move. So in order to hit a powerful shot, you have to be positioned well in order to have enough pressing time. The sensitivity of the button should be so that it's not too easy nor to hard to hit powerful shots. There could be some small animation somewhere showing the power increasing as you press.
The minimum power would be the speed of the normal shot.
Just a random idea. :D

I think the players still look unnaturally stiff, I don't know if you can still improve the animation a little, and maybe add some more detailed textures to the hair etc.?

Gonna post more suggestions/comments later...the game is obviously more complicated, I'm still very confused about a lot of things, such as why I'm hitting so many errors etc... lol

@miguel :
Sometimes I wonder why I write explanation... :roll:
Look again at the 1st message of this topic : The AI is very basic !

And I guess there's a problem when the AI is on the most difficult level.
To revert back to a normal level, edit the Tennis.ini and change "[TrainingClub_p2] - Level" to 2 (or maybe 1).
If you don't know how to do it, just install the game again.

@Serena_Fan :
As I already said many times, there will have more set of strike anims in the future, but not before a few months after the initial final version release.

>> that backhand follow through is brutal

hmm, what do you mean ?

@S.Williamz :
If you prepare the slice too late, it'll show the default animation, coz anyway, the slice effect won't be too strong...

[Time = Power]
It's a common feature. It was in the tennis game I played the most (2nd after Tennis Elbow, actually ;) ) : Great Courts 2.
The fact that u needed to prepare your strike time in advance to hit it strongly was the main reason I decided to create TE at 1st : on the court, I never felt I had to prepare in advance to hit strongly. Actually, the faster you prepare, the more you'll hit strongly, it's pure physical law => Power = speed * strength.
The only case it wouldn't be true is for the Gonzales super forehand which needs a maximal amplitude, but it's not very common, and the current TE system works quite fine...

Read the topic about concepts if you want to know what preparation time gives you... It's way lot more realistic than time => power...

And now, you have a visual indication when you use your last acceleration, so you don't have excuse anymore to not know you can't do it anymore... :whistle:

About the animations, unfortunately, I'm almost on my max, cannot do better without restarting from the beginning.
Hopefully, for the future sets, I'll use slow motion videos and I'll be able to reproduce more naturally the strikes.
For the little story, I paid for animations, and they were absolutely bad (ok, maybe not that bad, but really below average), so I modified them by myself... Doing only modification was a lot faster than recreating the whole thing, but it leads to keep some of the initial overall mistakes... :(
I did the service & smash from scratch... I don't know if u see any difference in quality from the other strikes, but if u do, then u can have hope to see a better quality for the future sets... :)

i read your explanation before :roll:
yes, there is a problem in the "4th level" , but what you wrote before doesn't explain specifically why suddenly the opponent doesn't move. i was playing just fine before. and now i cannot play. so what you wrote before doesn't help me at all. but what you wrote now might actually help... thanks!

I think the danger zone is a little vague in design... I think there could be a little circle that shows you exactly where to stand to hit an ideal shot.
I have read all that is written about the gameplay and I'm still very confused and frustrated...what is the most ideal spot to hit? Next to the green zone, behind it, in it?
And honestly I hate how random the errors sometime feel, and also for example, I press the acceleration, sometimes it's fast and sometimes it's really loopy, even though I thought I standed in the exact same spot, or almost? It's really frustrating.
I mean I guess you will learn these things fast enough, but I'd like a helper that shows clearly exactly where to stand.

I've been playing the beta for many hours in total now, and I still hit crazy errors and in general am in total confusement in how to actually play well. It just sucks that in order to have fun with it I must read a ton of hard-to-understand text about how the game works...it's really hard to get into.

Call me stupid lol but that's how I feel...
