I have been playing the demo on Mac and note in the dev log that you say

MacOs & Linux version will be updated only if you request it ; MacOs version cannot be signed so you have to be able to launch an unsigned app ; MacOs version is updated on Steam

Is this only applicable to the demo? I was planning to buy the full version and was planing to buy direct so you got a better percentage but I also have a discount code from purchasing an older version. I think I can launch an unsigned app but if it's safer going forwards to get it through Steam I will do that.

the full version is the demo plus your License Key.
I won't update the game on MacOS right now, but if you want, you can still buy from managames.com and use your free Steam key to run the game on Steam.
