Few Questions

Postby 8L4ckj35u5 » 02 Jul 2022, 19:21

First of all I really enjoy the game :D but there are some things that I wonder if I could do.
1. Can I manually set the skills and potentials of my player? Seems to difficult and time consuming to develop as a junior and I don't want to just have 100s everywhere as a pro.
2. Where are the values for the strategies of the different playstyles stored as they relate to the strategy you can set in game. In other words how would I make a power baseliner play like a bulldog for example.

Hello,

1) No, the only thing you can do is to change these lines in your Tennis.ini, under [WT_Training] :
Code: Select all
PotClub      =   100
PotJunior   =   97.5
PotPro      =   95
PotMaster   =   92.5
PotIncredible   =   90

This will make all the potentials set to the value depending on the difficulty level when you start a new career.

2) The player style and the strategy have a lot of similarities but they are not identical, so you cannot make a Power Baseliner acts exactly like a Bulldog, and there's no easy way to know what are the values to set to get the closest to that goal... :fear:

Thanks for the reply,

1) I see. If anyone else is interested I thought of a workaround by adding a new player to Players.ini to coach as a pro and tweaking their BestRank and attributes to get my desired result

2) I think I saw a comment you made on a steam forum mentioning how attack will, net will, and I think baseline distance were the three core differentiators between the styles. Is it at least possible to know numerically how those differ across the different styles?

1) Good idea ! :yes:

2) No, sorry, it'd require some time to do all these calculations, and I'm even not sure it'd work in all cases (eg: the Bulldog's Acceleration Will isn't used in the same way as the other player styles).
For the Baseline Distance, you can do it visually though : do a warm-up, note where is everyone on the default setting, and then modify it to reach another one's default position.
