Calendar - Some Tournaments not showing on Planing site

Postby chriscobain » 18 Jun 2021, 09:16

I am working on a new calendar including historically correct week changes for each major tournament. Even though most tournaments are displayed correctly at the "planning" screen in career mode, others don't! So far I haven't been able to detect any rule for it. In some occasion it will even happen that in a particular year the tournament will be shown correctly and in others years not.

Any ideas? I will upload the .ini-file, too. I stopped testing the results after the Acapulco tournament so it isn't done.

Hello,

what tournament isn't correctly shown ? On what week & year ?

You can click on Settings -> Profile -> Show Engine Log, and look for "Warning" & "Error" in it (although not all mistakes in the .ini will produce a warning message :fear: ).

There are some error showing in the logfile, but non of them are concerned with the tournaments, I am talking about.

So I just loaded up the game in 2019 and I will give you 2 lists.

Tournaments shown correctly:

Qatar ExxonMobil Open @ Doha
Tata Open Maharashtra @ Pune
Open Sud de France @ Montpellier
Córdoba Open
New York City Open
Rio Open
Open 13 Provence @ Marseille
Delray Beach Open

Tournaments no shown/missing:

Brisbane
Sydney International
ASB Classic @ Auckland
ABN AMO World Tennis Tournament @ Rotterdam
Argentina Open @ Buenos Aires
Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships
Abierto Mexicano Telcel @ Acapulco

That's it for the first 9 weeks of the calendar. I haven't edited any further, since I need to find a solution for this first.

Try to sort them by week, Brisbane is assigned to week 1, but is after week 2 tournaments

I think everyone who gives you problems has that problem

There are a couple of these on in the file since I changed weeks A LOT for some tournaments.
Tried it nonetheless, but didn't change anything.

I apparently identified the problem:

If the command "YearPeriod" is followed by a couple of years that includes at least one "gap year" the different years can not be separated by a space but by ";" for it to work.

Now all tournaments show up in the plan.

I just checked and the "YearPeriod = 1987-1992 2009-2019" (for Brisbane) worked correctly : the tournament was present in 2017, but not in 2001.

";" isn't recognized by the YearPeriod parser. It'll only prevent the parsing of the following numbers and thus make the whole process fail to work correctly.

Maybe you think that the tournament should be present from 1992 to 2009 ?

I don't know, what to say:

with spaces in between Brisbane eg. didn't show up in 2019. But wih ";" it does!

But I might try a full reinstallation because there are some other peculiar things happening when I use mods...like Surfaces not being displayed at all on the planning site and even the background color doesn't match the corresponding surface of the tournament?

Do you have the latest version of TEM2 or at least a recent one ? It was possibly bugged 1 or 2 years ago.

I just purchased the game last week, so it should be up to date! But the Mod I installed isn't quite as new...maybe there are some issues with that?

Partly solved this...in a lot of court.ini the "Type" was missing. Still not showing the surface in writing on the planning site but at least the colors are correct now.

Having an older Mod shouldn't impair the parsing of PlayPeriod.

But it can lead to the issues with the name. You should compare it to the latest version in the Modding SDK, to check there's no important thing missing.
