How to add music to the game?

Postby Martin1986 » 28 Jan 2020, 16:22

Hi, I want to replace the menu music with my own selection. I have followed the modding guide but it didn't work for me. Here's what I've done:
Created a new "MyMod" folder inside of "Mods" folder.
Created a new "Music" folder inside of "MyMod" folder and copied my own music in there ("Song1.ogg)".
Copied the "Specifics" folder (from ModdingSDK) inside of "MyMod" folder and removed all the Ini files inside the "Ini" folder.
Created a new empty file called "Music_Mod.Ini" inside the "Ini" folder. Added the following to this file:

Code: Select all
[Menu]
MyMod   =   Song1
Base   =   Song1

Now when I launch the game there's no music inside the menus. What did I do wrong?

Hello,

it seems alright. (if you want to replace the base songs, you could have only "Base = Song1")

Click on Settings -> Profil -> Show Engine Log, and check for Warning & Error (and/or post it here).

This doesn't seem to work. Now I only put "Base = Song1" inside the "Music_Mod.Ini" file which looks like this:

Code: Select all
[Menu]
Base   =   Song1

Still when I launch the game there's no music playing and after 15 seconds the game crashes to desktop. I've attached the crash report.

The Unity engine crashes which means there's a bug in it.

Before crashing, it says "out of memory", so maybe there's some kind of issue with the .ogg file you use. Could you send it to me ? (=> contact (at) managames --dot-- com)
I'll check if it has any particularities.

PS: it means you have correctly configured the things, though... :blackeye:

I was actually using one of the menu music ("Fearless.ogg") from TE 2013 to make sure that the problem wasn't from my songs. So I don't know what could cause this issue :?

Ok, I gave it a try and got the crash as well.

I checked and I found out I could add a "streaming" flag so it doesn't run out of memory.

So it should work in the next update, thanks to your bug report ! :yes:
