SCHLIRi,
ok, I checked your saved game, and actually I didn't notice Juan Herrara was number 1. So yes, his skills are totally normal, because he has low Concentration & Consistency so his other skills are pretty high.
For Karagoz, did you lost in R3 of Toronto in 2022 ? If yes, I guess your player had a bad day. If not, then it could be because you played him on a slow surface where he was well trained while your player wasn't.

Algo,
I fixed the disappearing players in the last update.

I had forgotten to tell you : to configure your players and your controls, copy over from your TE2013's Tennis.ini to TEM2's Tennis.ini these 4 sections : [TrainingClub_p1], [TrainingClub_p2], [Controller], [Keys1] (if you play with keyboard) or [Joy1] (if you play with a controller).

Got it working a bit better, now I have my remapped short accelerations and short normal shots back.
I still can't hit a normal and topspin shot tho. (I want normal shot in my A key and topspin in my Z key)

I can feel some minor differences, which I like.
It will be a bit harder it seems.
Tho I insist that the safe shot as it is, should be replaced by quicker reflexes in on the run slices, that's what happens in real life, if your opponent puts you on the run, you barely get there and slice it back.

Algo,
1) the Keys are for an Azerty keyboard, so replace A by Q and Z by W.

2) And yup, the differences are subtle ; I think someone who doesn't know TE well cannot notice them, but I'm glad a specialist like you can feel there are some changes..!

More exactly :
- ball air physics has been tuned and should be now nearly 100% realistic (before, there were some discrepancies on the slow balls, and with the spin in certain cases)
- imprecision rules use real physics instead of the 2D aiming zone, which gives more natural variation to the trajectories, but now the ball goes too much in the net and I'll have to tune that a bit more... :P
- I tuned a bit the strike "physics" to match these changes, but it's not all done
- Max shoulder acceleration speed has been raised to 185km/h from 162km/h, and the max acceleration speed has been raised to 160km/h from 150km/h (when you have 0% topspin)

Overall result is that it feels more nervous than before (and thus more realistic), but it's still far from the final result as I have other important changes to do, especially on the precision zone, whose minimum size might get bigger.

3) For the safe shot, I'm not sure ; 1 annoying thing is that I can't make the anim be a slice strike as the player may press the button right before hitting the balls...
Maybe making the safe shot weaker would be ok ? It'd be the equivalent on a real court to just put the racket in front of the ball, with almost no swing.

I see what Algo is saying and I agree with him. However, I understand it might not be easy to make the slice animation. I think the idea of making the shot come off a bit weaker could work, but not too much because if not it will be impossible to play as a defender

I tested the ball physics going into dev mode and it's really difficult to have a 5+ shot rally. The feeling is really good (as in TE2013) but almost every ball ends up going into the net

Yes, making it weaker could work.

I would have to see how weak or what you would be aiming for but what definitely cannot happen is safe shots landing in the opponent's baseline and it happens now.

Really glad you raised the maximum speed. Gonzo first and Delpo now made that 162kmh bar obsolete

Strikeware: defenders aren't relying (or shouldn't rely) on the safe shot to get back in a point. You should be very lucky if it does give you time to get back into it, imo.

I'm giving it a proper try now and will come back with my feedback.
So far, loving it.
Nets and all. I mean, if you're hitting the ball so late, you should be punished.
I'm not sure if said handicap should always be nets, but it's definitely better than TE2013.

Hey manutoo,

First of all congratulations for creating such great games. Both Tennis Elbow and TEM are awesome!

I started playing the new Tennis Elbow Manager 2 and it shows some interesting improvements comparing to the previous version.

I don't know if this is the right topic to post it but I have one question: the tournaments on Men's Tour seem to be mostly the same from TEM1, at least on the version I downloaded. Is there somewhere I could download the tournaments that are currently played, to replace the tournaments file on the game? It would be much better to play with the most recent tournaments.

Thanks in advance.

Algo,
yes, for the balls in the net, I'll tune it more. I kinda stopped to work in the middle of that... :P
Once I'll have worked out the other parameters, I'll then address that specifically, so it'll have some balls in the net when we prepare (very) late, but not so much to avoid to never have more than 5 strikes per rally, like Strikeware203 outlined ; like a lot of things in tennis, it'll be a matter of balance..!

Kadu84,
Actually, I didn't notice the recent changes in the tournaments...
What are the most important ones ?
If you're really motivated, I guess you could take a Mod for TE2013 having a recent tournament list, and then put it into TEM2 (you'll just need to put back the Olympics and adapt the tournaments around them, and you should preserve Challengers / Futures / Junior tournaments).

inf8,
yes, it's in Tennis.ini ...
