I just bought the game and at first it all seemed fine but when i was in the controller settings suddenly the cursor went completely crazy. I dont even know how to explain because my english isnt perfect, the cursor is just jumping back and forth from one screen to another as if i would constantly push a button a million times in a second. This way i cannot play the game unfortunately. I dont know what to do, i already uninstalled the game and reinstalled it but it stays the same?

Hello,

unplug your special controllers (eg: wheel, pedal, trackpad) and it should be ok.

Is it with TE2013 or TE4 ?

If TE4, would you be able to manage to send me a Bug Report when the cursor jumps all around ? (HowTo => topic5-31732.php )

Its TE 4 and i dont have any special controllers. Im sorry ( i´m a noob in these things) but because of the wild cursor i was only able to press the shift key while starting the game and then get the data folder but dont know what to do further? What folder do you need?

Once the data folder is opened, close the game and you can send me the Player.log file from that folder (you can post it here if you want, or send it by email, or file sharing website).

If you have a laptop, you might have a trackpad, but if not, then it's very strange. Hopefully the log will show some hint about what's going on.

I got your email : there's indeed no controller plugged in. So I guess we're left with 2 possible culprits : the mouse & the keyboard. (assuming you don't have a program to save & run keyboard macros)

Could you try to unplug your keyboard and launch the game to see if it helps ? If so, it could mean that the game sees the Alt key always pressed down or something like that.

If not, then could you try to unplug your mouse and check the result ? It might be quite complicated to launch the game with only a keyboard, so you can try to unplug the mouse once the game is loading.

Side note : if we don't find a way to fix the issue and you go over 2 hours of playtime and want a refund, explain to Steam what happened and it should be ok. If not, let me know and I'll contact them by myself.

Unfortunately neither starting without mouse nor without keyboard changed anything.
Then i tried the demo and strangely enough i had the starting menu for 1 second and then i got back to Desktop and i was asked to choose an app to open the html file?

I have not reached 2 hours so refund should be possible but its a shame because i was really looking forward to playing the game, seems really good. Anyway your help is much appreciated.

If you press Escape in the Main menu, it'll close the game, so I guess with the demo the "fake" pressed key might have been "Escape" instead of "Alt". All this is quite puzzling...

Could you try to reboot your PC to see if it changes anything ? (not turn off & on, really restart)

Otherwise, maybe try to run the game in Windows 10 compatibility mode (right-click TE4.exe in "<SteamFolder>\steamapps\common\Tennis Elbow 4" then Compatibility tab)

Do you play other games ? You didn't have an issue like this ?

Tried all of it and even another keyboard and mouse but still no luck.

Other than that im only playing Football manager which works fine.

One last thing to try ; could you change this line in your Tennis.ini, under [Controller], from : (HowTo => topic19-32161.php )
KeyboardHook = 1
to :
KeyboardHook = 2
and let me know if it changes anything..?

Could you try to rename your Tennis.ini to Tennis-bak.ini and then launch the game ? (do not rename it while the game is running)
If it helps, send it to me by email, so I could see what setting went wrong. (I just remembered something similar happened to another user, a couple years ago )

This seems to work! But i understand i cannot just keep it this way? I sent you another email with the folder.

In the meantime i remembered a very old second PC from my basement and this also seems to work but i dont know if it would be an acceptable solution for me because its so slow (had not time to test it enough). Thanks again for your time.

I got your Tennis.ini you just sent by email and it gives me the same issue !

I'll look tomorrow if I can fix the bug so no one else will have this issue.
