I think you've done a good job with these, the shape is mostly right and the detailing is well done

One thing I would suggest, which you can do pretty quickly and will make your textures look better, is add a simple cloth effect e.g:

or something similar.

If you are using photoshop, you insert this as a layer, then add the colour as another layer on top, blended with multiply mode.

I have some templates I can post if you wish.

But very good work overall for your first textures, keep it up!

Texture wise I am familiar with what talking about. Did that before but by hand.

I use gimp, which is similar so I will try.

I imagine it would be a similar process in GIMP, I'll have a try myself.

Another thing I would suggest is getting an animation like this:

anim.jpg

Which is really helpful when you're looking to see if stuff lines up.

I got that one from megyaem, I'm not sure if it's posted anywhere.

Tried GIMP, seems exactly the same process as in Photoshop, so you should be ok.
