Tennis Elbow 2009 1.0b

Postby manutoo » 30 May 2009, 08:37

Hello,

Tennis Elbow 2009 v1.0b is released (Build 34-2009.05.30) :
https://www.managames.com/download.php?TE2009_fe1b.exe [Permanent direct download link to the latest version]
http://toogame.free.fr/Files/TennisElbow2009.exe [Mirror site for people having corrupted download from managames.com - but not up to date all the time]

New Features :
- New Strike Styles : 1 Service, 1 Forehand, 1 Backhand & 1 Two-Handed Backhand (you're welcome to guess from what real players they are inspired of in this topic : topic15-2209.php )
- Stat : number of strikes counter (activated within the In-Game Options menu)
- Stat : simulated match time (activated within the In-Game Options menu) ; it counts the time needed for everybody to reposition before each serve, and the rest time every 2 games
- World Tour : in Davis Cup matches, replaced the names of the players by their country on the scoreboard
- Online : can block your opponent from opening the chat window => Chat Key + Space to Block / Unblock (end of match chat is still always possible, though)
- Online : can cancel the ELO penalty for your opponent (in case he had a good reason to give up) ; only work if he's still connected

Changes :
- Online : Time Limit for Demo lowered from 11 min to 10 min 30s
- Online : swapping to another application doesn't pause the game anymore when playing in fullscreen
- Online : max wait time before serving lowered from 20s to 15s
- Online : now ELO is calculated normally on Connection Loss, though only 50% of the changes is applied
- Online : 1% ELO penalty if giving up during the first 2 games while being lead
- Change of Side : F2 key now instantly swaps the camera side
- Physics : Twisted Kicked Serve ( = up & down during the serve preparation) 's bounce direction changed ; this applied to Nadal Shot's bounce as well
- World Tour : many women got their two-handed backhand back..! (thanks to jenks10s for the provided list :) )
- Gameplay : tuned the original FH, BH & 2H-BH strike animations ; now, all strikes have a bit more wingspan
- Gameplay : lowered the max running speed from 30 km/h to 29 km/h to compensate the increased wingspan of strikes ; for long run, this effect is bigger than the increased wingspan, so now, it'll be slightly harder to defend
- Gameplay : slightly lowered the running acceleration bonus for small players ; this should make it more fair for taller players
- Gameplay : can't charge effect (topspin or slice) before to move & then move and strike the ball anymore

Bug Fixes:
- Online : fixed a rare bug that could make you see the wrong outfit for your opponent when joining a game (it could happen only with very low lag)
- Online : Time Limit is reset when starting a re-match
- Online : a couple of security holes fixed in the Name Protection system
- Gesture : shouldn't run all around anymore when doing a gesture
- Controllers : Gamepad / Joystick's Hats are now correctly handled and can be played with (for example: the down lelft pad of the Xbox 360 gamepad is a hat)

Notes :
- Changelog of previous versions is here : topic15-1971.php
- as usually, if you notice any glitch or bug, thanks to report them !
- don't forget to exit TE2009 before to install the latest version
- Mac Users : the Mac OSX version will come within a few days

Important Note :
Post in this topic only if it's related to the latest new version, ie only for these 2 cases :
- about a point listed in the New Features / Changes / Bug Fixes
- about a bug that you are sure didn't happen in the previous version but happens in the new one (else, post in the "Bug Report" forum)
Do not write about anything else, else I may delete your post without any prior warning (or at very least, I won't answer it) ; if you're not sure your topic is related or not to the latest version, just create a new topic in the forum, it'll be fine...

Also on a side note, don't send me PM ( = Private Message) except for Private thing. Everything that can be read by everybody should be pointed out / asked in the forum, so my comments & answers could also be read by everybody, and hopefully, I won't have to write them again when someone else will have the same comments / questions...

Build 35, June 1st:

Changes :
- Gameplay : Short Strike Speed raised, especially when Precision is above the Power ; use 100% Precision with 80% Power for best result
- Gameplay : Short Acceleration Speed raised when Precision is above the Power ; use 100% Precision with 80% Power for best result
- Gameplay : Acceleration Speed bonus when ball is high isn't applied anymore if the ball is raising, except if it's a very slow ball (*)
- Gameplay : Nadal Shot length lowered a bit, to avoid to do too much length faults
- Gameplay : Normal strike speed lowered when hitting the ball off center
- Online : Service Power limited to 70% in Tourney & Fair Modes
- Spanish language updated
- Animation : Service 1/2 slightly shortened, and 2/2 tuned a bit

Bug Fixes :
- World Tour : Simulation time saved & restored on match resume
- Animation : Wingspan of 1H-FH 1/2 & 1H-BH 1/2 have been fixed and are now equal to Styles 2/2

Note :
- (*) : this was giving a huuuuuuge advantage to short players, coz they could advance on high raising ball ( = standing in the orange zone of the Danger Zone) and still smashing the hell out of it...

Hey Manu, i was wondering, if we could possibly see some more types of stroke (eg nadals forehand), and serve, maybe even return poses, like federer bent over twirling his racquet then coming upright. just a thought, it would be nice to see since the other ones are so good :)

Manu, it would be good if we can change from right-handed to left-handed and viceversa when playing on DevMode = 1.

Hi Manutoo

can you add two things to the game? :P

1.) let the player have a sound and can shout it that come on
2.) let the player groan between rallies

i think its a good idea and if you can do this the game will be more realistic and funny and better :P :D
doubles:5.Best: 2.

Winner: 2010.:Brisbane, Johannesburg, Costa do Sauipe, Stockholm, Basel 09.:Moscow
F: Sydney, Memphis, Indian Wells, Monte Carlo, Roland Garros
SF: Australian Open, Miami, Barcelona, Wimbledon

If I deleted Kim Clijsters as a player so I could play as her how do I download the update without losing my file?
