New Strike Styles : from what real players ?

Postby manutoo » 30 May 2009, 08:36

Hello,

can you guess what real players I picked to create the new :
- Service ( Style = 1/2)
- Forehand ( Style = 2/2)
- Backhand ( Style = 2/2)
- 2-handed Backhand ( Style = 2/2)
..?

For people with the demo, your player has the new service style, while the CPU has the new FH & BH styles.

Will there be or is there now an option to switch back and forth between the 2 service styles?

Hi Manu
Looks to me like none other than Sweet Pete's service style...WELL DONE!!!
Federer's 1 handed backhand!!! :applause:
Improvements to the forehand...
1) The slightly "closed" raquet face on the backswing...
2) The "laid-back wrist" as the raquet comes forward to strike the ball....
3) The player seems to "jump" forward to transfer his weight more into the strike...ALL of these I like!

I don't know if you can still "tweak" the groundstrokes, but here's a suggestion:
Have the raquet follow-through more "down" around the non-hitting upper arm (nearer the elbow) instead of "over the shoulder"
If you can do this it will appear more like the "windshield-wiper" follow-through that is more prevalent on the pro tour today...i.e. more like Fed's follow-through...

It looks to me that you created more "whip" on the 1H topspin backhand backswing, no?
This is SOOO cool! You've put ALL of my suggestions into the 1H backhand...
I couldn't be happier!!

The 2 Hander looks great also!
Kudos to you ManuTOO, I KNEW you could do it!!!
You are "THE GREATEST!!!!" :headbang:
p.s. Sorry Manu, when I originally posted I had not "selected" the "new" backhand...

Well the the forehand and backhand are very Federer to me. Great job, they look almost exactly like the real thing! Lemme try to figure out the serve and 2 hander, might be Djokovic.

I think that the new service style (style 1) is taken from Andy Roddick's serve. He is the one player that I remember squatting under the ball and looking up at it from this hunched position, although I imagine that others do this, also.

The new forehand and backhand animations remind me or Federer's strokes. At first, though, it seemed that the turning of the head was not enough, as though the player too quickly turned his head to see where the ball would go after the strike. Federer is still looking at the point of contact "long" after the ball has left his racket. His head remains still during his swing, until the very end, when his upper body rotates a bit at the extension of his stroke, and his head follows to track the ball (but the ball is probably over the net before he turns his head to follow it).

The Federer 1 handed backhand is PERRRRFFEECT!! :applause:

The Federer forehand strike style is PERFECT also!!! :D

The serve is clearly "Sweet Pete's!"

Not sure whose 2 hander, but it's much better, too!

p.s. Please, if you wish, delete my first post on this topic as I didn't know what in the h*** I was doing at the time...
