That's some Windows bug... :fear:

I got some similar issue lately with Windows Update & Trusted Installer eating up all the CPU, but in a nearly permanent manner. I had to install a new KB to fix that.

FIXED!Basically I just turned off Windows Defender, and everything is back to normal. I did not reinstall or anything. I just tried to recall what I did the day the freezes started happening, and I remembered that I installed Windows update and turned On Windows Defender (Which I had kept off for a long time).Anyway, I wonder why this happened? Could it be my PC cannot handle Windows Defender auto-scanning? But it doesnt use much CPU.Thanks for all your advice.

If you installed it in the Mods folder, you can try to launch the game without Mod by following the instructions here : topic29-11960.php ; check the lines before "Updating the game & Conclusion" paragraph. Then try to do 1 match in Training Club (or manually save your current career 1st, then launch without mod and start a new career to check how it goes)

If you reinstall everything in the same way, your saved game will work. If you don't reinstall the same Mod, your saved game will be marked as "Invalid".

Yes, it's offline, I used Sam's megapatch thing, but I don't know how to remove it.

If I decide to reinstall, will my offline career be saved where I left it? Is there a guide to do it?

Did you install any Mod ? If yes, could you try without any Mod ..?

Could you check that this folder isn't full of screenshot : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Tennis Elbow 2013" ?

Correction. It also happens whenever each of us wins a point. Windowed mode made it worse. Actually during the freezes, the window top says (Not responding)

Time polling did not work , BUT

I can be more specific. It happens exactly when the opponent wins the point. If I win the point, it's OK. It also doesn't freeze at all during play. Only when the opponent hits a winner, then it freezes. My opponent is Berdych, World Tour, US Open 2007.

There was an update 2 months ago, but there's not much reason it'd change anything.

Try the tip here to change the time polling method : topic5-16488.php .

Did you try in windowed mode if you play in fullscreen ? And vice versa ?

I used the tool. There's no CPU spike at all. It's hovering pretty steady at 4%, and it still freezes for 5 seconds. I don't know why it started doing this. I don't think it's overheating. I play heavier games than this, even the latest MMORPG fine with 60 fps.

Should I update the game? was there an update? I just installed it back in Jan 2015 and never done anything since.

When a spike occurs, check the CPU history graph and mouse over the different zone to see what took CPU time during that spike.

If there's no CPU spike, then it'll be rather strange ; I guess it'll mean the game pauses for some reason. In such case, the 1st thing is to check for an overheating that would force the CPU to throttle a bit.

I've been playing since 2014 with no issues, and suddenly 3 days ago Tennis Elbow would freeze for 5 seconds every 2 minutes. Would you happen to have any idea of why this is so ?Computer is on high performance, and I even set task manager to High Priority for Tennis Elbow. Could it be a Windows update? I'm on Windows 8.1 . Thanks
