Elo points

Hey,

I dont understand why a player looses elo points when he beats a lower elo player in a tiebreak.
For example; U have 1300 elo but ur opponent had 400 elo and he just serves well , he reaches a tiebreak and u know u loose points.
I think the serve is too much overpowered in this case.
And its strange that u loose elo even when u win.
Problem is , that when i host a game ,there are to much low elo opponents .
Mabey an idea to filter it? , so a club cant join a pro etc?

what are ur thoughts?

i agree with everything u said, elo system is lame. well if a player joins my game and his elo is lower than 1000 i just reject him and wait for someone with higher elo  my elo is 2300, most of the time I lose elo even when i win 6-2

I think this ELO-system is balanced as possible. It's unprovided for matches between e.g. master and club players ... everyone should play with equal-ranking players to preserve motivation by unversed players.
So could every player reach a level which meets his / her experience.

With sporty regards,
Boris Becker.

You should play this game for pure enjoyment and not for collecting elo

LJW,
a 7/6 win is equivalent to a 7/5 win, and if you can't do better than that against someone who has 3 times less ELO than you, it means either you are over-rater or he's under-rated, which means you should give him some of your ELO points. And if you do 7/6 or 7/5 against a 4000 ELO player, I guess you'll be happy to grab a few ELO points...

I have a low ELO because I've hardly played online and everyone is rejecting me. It's really annoying! :x
