Online sync problems

I was just playing against dylan (My online name is AVG) and EVERY time i hit a ball it came up saying it had detected a sync problem and has to resynchronise. It happened right at the moment the point should have been awarded including me hitting ace after ace after ace but none of them were counted. So I decided to go into menus for a while to see if it would sort itself out, not realising that once the countdown ended, it would force me to retire and I lost about 60 ELO points. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT!? I'm pissed. It wouldn't let me win if I tried to play properly and then it forced me to lose anyway

It means you are using a mod or your oppennent uses a mod (animations, faces, courts, outfits....)

MBM,
your opponent very likely put a modified serve or court in his game.
And if you stay long time in the menus, and your opponent quits, the game penalizes you, not him.

I use this post as a link to ask a question. If and when I'm forced to leave - because of desync problems, or just time's up - how could I do it avoiding bad losses of ELO points?
I know, they're part of the game and there's no discretion on cases (except ranking), but sometimes, like these times, quitting is inevitable. Losing further points is pretty frustrating.
I hope I've explained myself well.

Mecir,
just ask your opponent to cancel your ELO penalty before quitting...
