no Mac?

Hi,
I think I'm a very good player but I'm disappointed that I can't compare my skills with other players because I have a Mac which doesn't support online matches. Are there any plans to make the online games working for Mac?
The game itself is pretty much the same on both platforms so I don't really know why cross-platform matches can't be played

Hello,
actually, there's currently no Network support for the Mac version because I used DirectPlay (from DirectX) on Windows, and thus, there's no direct equivalent on Mac.
So I'll have to look for a hi level network library that works on both Mac & Windows, and which is easy to use, and then rewrite the base code of TE2006 network code with it for Windows as well.
All of that won't be too easy, so I'm waiting to see how many Mac users will want to play online.
If you bought TE2006 Mac and you're waiting for it, then send me a little email to let me know, I'll add you to the count...

I just bought TE 2006 for the Mac (I have and iMac G5, OS X v. 10.4), and would love to play online! Please add me to the list.

Wine has been ported, so I fail to see why we still don't have a mac version for online play yet?
"When Apple announced that Mac OS X was moving to the x86 platform, the Darwine group, along with AlexandreJulliard and KenThomases of CodeWeavers, began working on an x86 version. Darwine has since reached version parity with the main Wine tree, and all development now happens in WineHQ tree.
This is likely to make Wine more popular due to the large number of Mac users who need to interoperate with Windows at work, or want to play Windows games at home and school. Some people believe Apple might want to lend Wine (and Darwine) some support, since Wine for Mac OS X would benefit them -- switch to Mac and keep running your Windows apps. However, they have so far refrained from doing so, either to avoid offending Microsoft or for other reasons.
In any case, expansion of the potential user base is good news for Wine. ?"

TE Mac doesn't use Wine ; and DirectPlay (the Network part of DirectX) hasn't been ported : they use a special tool to directly load the DirectPlay.dll, and I can't do that as TE Mac is a native Mac Application ...
